I recently clicked on a link sent to me by GOG, it was a discount on a game $8.50 for the game on sale.
After checking my transaction, they charged me $114.99. I never loaded the game I just contacted them for a refund straight away. about 1 hour later I got a email saying do I want the money put in my GOG wallet. As this error was their
fault I asked them to put it back in Paypal. That was 2 weeks ago, They have not replied to me at all. I took the issue up with Paypal and have been refunded the difference of $106.49.

My point is why did it have to come to this, as they should have gotten of their lazy arses and fixed the issue.
GOG are really slack in customer service, and do not deserve the customers they have.

I have never had the misfortune of having to ask for a refund, but I have had to contact support over their bad 502 Gateway error issues. It really screwed me out of some deals and special offers. Sorry you had that experience.
They do so little business compared to other stores and takes weeks, sometimes 2+ months to respond.
Dunno wtf they are doing.
How TF the system managed to charge you $115?
I'm checking my transactions right now.. O_o

(EDIT: all seems ok here)

What game did you purchase?

Only game I know of that would come close to that is We Happy Few which was on sale at 90% a few ago but that still doesn't add up to the amount you stated.

Never had a problem myself (I've always had a response within 24 hours) but I have seen reports of others that have waited but once they posted on the forums they normally got a blue reply who would expedite there ticket or handle the issue themselves.

My guess is maybe they fell afoul of one of GOG's everything-is-ticked-by-default sales pages?

I had the same issue when I asked for a refund back to the original payment method. It took about three weeks to get a response back, and the refund.

The times I've had to contact support for other reasons it's usually 1-2 days, but it seems like if you want a cash refund you're going to be waiting, and just maybe you might change your mind and request a refund to your GOG Wallet instead, which I believe is now automated.

I mean, you just don't have that issue with Steam. If I want a cash refund or a Steam Wallet refund it takes the same amount of time, because the entire thing is automated either way.

GOG is understaffed and over-worked, and CD Projekt doesn't really give the store the funding they need to hire more employees which would help with support times, and even get some of the requested features implemented on the store.

Why don't they give their own store more money? Because this store doesn't really make any money. GOG gets the necessary resources to operate at a basic level and that's it.

Automation is mandatory for being competitive.

Hmm, they get 30% take as far as I know. The store should generate enough money. Probably their management system is the problem, not effective enough.

That's the advantage of using pre-paid payment options like Paysafecard. They enforce a natural limit on your payments.

MadalinStroe: :))) It was more in the sense that you have Australian dollars, which aren't equivalent to US dollars, so that's where the difference might have come from. However, I was on my phone and I didn't have the time to type everything that I should have.
