Unreal. I tried to buy wallet funds, using a Bank of America Mastercard (not a small, independent bank but one of the largest). Message popped up saying "Something Went Wrong".

Called BoA customer service, and WHILE SHE WAS ON THE PHONE, tried again, confirmed all of my numbers TWICE, and it was refused again... but she said NO ATTEMPT WAS MADE. She said this about the first attempt to. Nothing on there end showed up for them to decline.

Gee, the way you guys do business, is it any wonder you may be in financial difficulty?

The folks on these forums once again helped me with a problem and I just wanted to gift a game again in thanks to this community, but I guess gog is not interested in doing business with me any longer.

EDIT: And please don't bother with suggestions on other means of payment. Gog either wants some of my money, or they don't. It's not on consumers to bend over backwards to make purchases, most sane businesses bend over backwards to accept money.

EDIT2: I hadn't tried a different browser, I had hit Firefox both times. Just tried edge but couldn't remember my password. Still, not interested in other browsers anyway. Purchased thousands of games here all the while using Firefox. Seriously gog, I want to love you, I try, but man you make it hard sometimes.

Click on MY COLLECTION (1616, 565 UPDATED) and UPDATED, and you'll see lots of blue dots. ;)

Oh, yeah, lol. I had forgotten about those blue dots. I haven't paid attention to that UPDATED thing for awhile. Out of the 565 listed as updated, I'd bet money less than 20 are actually game updates. Likely less than 10. I used to spend the time to go through and click them just to get rid of the notification, but, obviously, I gave that up long ago.

Lol, you have more unchecked updates than I have games in my entire GOG library :D

That said, I also don't bother with updates much. I mean what, am I supposed to replay a game because they patched a squeaky door somewhere? I don't really get what the big deal about updates is, or even why all this stuff, that was working perfectly well, keeps getting updated. But maybe that's because I usually buy games long after release, long after most serious bugs are fixed.

No they are not. Most of them are so old they haven't had any "updates" in years. See screenshot and tell me which of those has had an actual update in the last, I dunno, five years?

They are mostly updates of the installers, which include new ads on their installer when you install them.

I had the same problem a couple of days ago buying The Outer Worlds. I was using Visa rather than Mastercard, but GOG just wasn't having it. Finally got around it by using Google Pay. Maybe GOG's payment processor is having some problems.

I understand what you are saying because some updates really add nothing. That's why I don't freak out when GOG games are not fully updated. I played outdated games and never noticed because the game still works perfectly.

That being said, some updates are necessary when the game is broken, or it's adding more gameplay features. Wartales had an update that added a couple of things to gameplay.

A great deal of these updates involve Galaxification.

I would advise caution on updating your games on gog, especially if you do not keep archives.

I should have added "aside from DOS games". At least 95% of my game updates are actually updates. Occasionally there's a phantom blue dot with no explanation and seemingly nothing changed, but that's rare.
