I'm still waiting for GOG's implementation of patch for Darkest Dungeon: The Color of Madness (patch was released by developer two weeks ago). This DLC is a new release and lack of recent patch for such long period of time can be show stopper for some players. It could have been expected that there will be a lot of important patches for this release as the developer is an indie studio so they probably do not have resources to release "flawless" software. As far as I got informed, GOG has already got relevant files from the developer so now it is only a question of ridiculously delayed implementation.

My question: is such two weeks delay a recent norm in case of GOG?

Recent? It's been a norm for years now unfortunately. Sometimes even longer.

Ouch... that's not a good info. :/

Just read this fabulous list for some gog versions of games that still aren't up to date with the Steam versions, and haven't been for years in some cases.

There are a few games that still have not been updated for quite some time (and in several cases the devs just don't intent to update GOG) but saying it's the norm imo is completey exaggerated. Just look at the "What did just update" thread to see how many updates are arriving daily. If the files for the game the OP asked about have already arrived at GOG yes, it's their fault in this case - no doubt about it - but we should stay reasonable here. Some people make it sound as if GOG does not care about updates at all and that simply is not true.

Yes, I'm aware of this list, but I hoped that in case of recently released games, GOG will support them for more than one day. :/

Darkest Dungeon: The Color of Madness was released on GOG on June 20, last GOG patch is from June 21.

Two weeks is not the norm, not even for the standalone patches. It's usually a couple days. If GOG has the files from the devs, then they've either run into an issue with the patch or they've somehow overlooked the fact they have it at all (has happened a couple times, I believe). I'd suggest giving Support a poke and see if they can give you some info on it.

I think we've been reasonable and patient for long enough. It's been going on for years. This sort of thing continuing is going to hurt gog.

It still depends on the companies though. Crate with Grim Dawn manage to send patches at the same time as Steam (we even got one that fixed a game breaking bug for pet builds a day before steam ;) ). Offline Update takes few days more than Galaxy. And actually playing Battletech and HBS sends patches to Galaxy same time as to Steam, too. So for some companies it got better ...

Granted, but there's plenty of room for improvment for some.
I think both GOG and certian companies have to improve, it doesnt help that gog at moments has the communicability of a brick made of obsidian

Yes, it was confirmed a week ago that updated files were already delivered to GOG.

I've just used a support ticket. By looking at my experience from the past it will another couple of days to get any response, sigh.

Yeah, it's a bit of a Catch-22. Keep us updated if you get a response though. :)

Sure. I took opportunity and asked them also about that "chaos" in official Darkest Dungeon changelog - for example, one patch has entirely wrong update notes and the latest GOG patch (released two weeks ago) has no entry at all.

Even though I agree in (most of) the cases that are on that list I still think that it does not hepl anybody to blow things out of proportion. And saying that it is NORMAL for GOG to do such things is just not correct.

Completely agreed here. If they would explain a bit more people would see when GOG is at fault and when they are victims just as the customer. But to be fair: not once have I experienced that GOG die not offer me a refund in such cases where a games has not been updated like forever even though it has been updated on other stores.

I also pinged GOG staff on discord yesterday and added a link to this OP.
