Yes, this will probably be deleted really soon (since this seems to be the new GOG policy). But it has to be said that right now offline installer updates are completely missing. This has been confirmed 4 days ago by a dev here.

Another user asked about missing offline installers and created a support ticket - unreplied as expected. So this post here is the only option to get a bit of attention.

So @GOG: When can we expect to get those fixed and haven't you informed us by ourselves about such a crucial issue?

"Some System Issue" may have been the hack CDPR suffered recently. Or a hamster fell over.

But a little transparency would go a long way. Monthly status reports?

The first link you gave the developer states the offline installers were updated the very next day.

The spreadsheet is a little vague on details such as:

- the date the last time both installers were updated (which would help to see how far behind things are)

- Was the update related to online multiplayer? (If the game needs Galaxy for multi player then there isn't much point to update the offline installer honestly)

- Are the developers using the same numbering system for both online and offline installers? This is a legitimate question as sometimes they do put out a few hot-fixes and then merge them all together for the offline installers.

Please note I am not trying to be negative as I have seen some offline installers get delayed in updating I am merely asking questions.

I am also in agreement with most people that I do not like this silence that has been going on recently it would be great for someone to communicate.

I wasn't buying anything during the Winter Sale for known reasons. I may have gotten weak this time round. Added games worth close to Euro 200.00 and more if titles weren't on sale. Seems like that once again it just shouldn't be.

GoG, oh GoG, what are you doing? Get your act together! You got 3 days fix it if - in benefit of the doubt - it was an error. Otherwise fess up and admit you're doing it on purpose!

If you do then maybe, just maybe, this person will press that purchase button instead of deleting every single item because you've messed up once more.

I cross-checked with games I own. Single player games such as Edna & Harvey: The Breakout, Godhood, Rimworld, Medieval Dynasty, Per Aspera, they all aren't up-to-date. I can't tell with Disco Elysium they got such a weird way of tagging their updates but also doesn't seem to be the latest version according to a quick lookup in my library. Version numbering should be the same on both Galaxy as well as the offline library.

This would all be a lot more transparent if the Changelogs would actually be updated, too. Whether offline installers are up to date or not, the changelogs are definitely behind, and partially by a lot.

Even for single player games the update could concern achievements or cloud save and therefore only appear on the Galaxy build. Hence why it would be interesting, for the games in this list, to know which ones are "technical" updates related to Galaxy and which ones are real patches. We go back to the fact that it would really help if Gog was posting release notes for every updates.

Your questions are valid but that's up to GOG to answer as it's an unacceptable time-sink for spreadsheet maintainers like WinterSnowfall (let alone gamers) to research the two version numbers, then research the dates when those versions were updated (eg, gogdb.org under the build tab), then open the game's "Update History" on Steam and hope the devs have put accurate time-stamped changelogs over there then cross-check build versions & upload dates against that to try and find out what's been updated, for every update of every game due to lack of changelogs.

As for what's different, it's possible that some discrepancy is Galaxy only issue that didn't require offline installers to be updated for some games, but as one example Project Warlock is definitely missing bug-fixes - v1.0.3.1 (2020-11-19) vs v1.0.2.1 (2019-12-03) - with the post 2020-11-09 update difference being all this.

GOG seriously need to a grip of this. It's one thing if the devs are slow in uploading an update to GOG but quite another when GOG still don't update their own installers 3 months after receiving the update from the developers. This doesn't "drive me to use Galaxy", it's just driven me to cut back on what I buy from GOG. Galaxy was supposed to be an "enhancement" to GOG, not an increasingly hostile distraction from getting the basics right...

As a side note, because Galaxy does not support Linux, I'm unable to track version "discrepancies" on what is probably the most neglected OS in terms of outdated versions. The reality is probably somewhat worse than what my comparison scripts can capture. Yeah...

I do not own Project Warlock but I believe the discrepancy is due to the last update being in a beta branch. There are other games with beta branches which can account for some of the discrepancies.

That's basically what I try to change with this thread and of course you are right, some updates has been fixed but the generel issue still seems to exist (though without GOG breaking the silence it is hard to say much more). I personally i.e. am waiting for a few offline installer updates myself (like Huniepot 2 which has been updated twice on Galaxy during the last days and zero times for the offline installer). Mostly but not not always, but if you use Galaxy it is quite easy to see when the last update happened there - so it also is easy to see if youtr offline installer ist outdated. Or, because it is Sunday this thread might get big enough until tomorrow to track some attention from GOG so that they might think it is worthy to respond. Honestly, I can't tell anymore, since GOGs silense policy recently has become rather extreme.
