The OP wanted a viable alternative to the gog downloader being removed by gog.

alternatives were:
Galaxy (optional)
broswer (clumsy)

or start to mess with third party.

It is not unreasonable to sympathise with the OP when non-client downloads are purposefully made harder to access and kept out of date.

Don't forget that OP mentions several times that he uses Steam, which requires you to use a game launcher / library manager. It's safe to assume that the only thing wrong with Galaxy is that it isn't Steam.

Another proof that all of this was an inconsistent mess of absurd and artificial rage.

What does amaze me is how diplomatic people is with this kind of topics even when people trying to help is being insulted. Apparently it is fun overall. Well, whatever. No idea.

Buy the game, go to extras download the offline installer exe, enjoy?

Till this date i make sure every of my purchases works fully without internet connection
as well as no galaxy launcher running this is my hard line.

Every purchase works as intented DRM free.

if you prefer to JUST use the browser, click on the game under the blue button you find
the option to download the offline installer files.... its quite visible.

The thing is that, his post could initially be mistaken as someone who doesn't know how to download games aside from GOG Downloader, but he's reactions to all attempts to tell him how to download offline installers makes it clear that his only goal is to feel edgy while making issues out of nothing.

That's a separate issue not specific to downloading from the browser. It affects offline installers regardless of how you download them, whether through a browser, through Galaxy or a third party tool. Hell, if the old Downloader still worked it would affect that. Thus it has nothing to do with the "issue" of the old Downloader being discontinued.

@GOG Please add these to the website:

Two radio buttons:
1 -- Download all game parts
2 -- Download all extras

GOG used to have that with the GOG Downloader, but not so simple with the browser doing the downloading.

How would you want them to do it.
1. Multiple downloads running simultaneously? Just imagine a game with lots of BIN files.
2. Multiple downloads, but running consecutively? Default browser downloaders don't generally do that.
3. Single big, in many cases huge, download file? GOG would then need to duplicate everything on their servers. That's a hell of a lot of storage space, and would be quite a significant cost to GOG.

The only realistic way probably is with Galaxy, which already does it, or some kind of Galaxy Lite replacement for the old GOG Downloader .... officially that is. Third party programs that use the GOG SDK can do it.

P.S. I guess GOG might be able to implement some kind of script, that keeps tabs on your browser downloading, and after each download finishes, starts the next one.

Honestly, I get the hate Galaxy is recieving from older users. But when we're talking about the offline installers, Galaxy is just the same as the old downloader was: a program where you have to log in to download your files. Just because it's called "Galaxy" it suddenly doesn't become more DRM than the downloader was. Both are/were optional, both do/did the same.

If you're using Galaxy to download offline backup installers you get exactly the same files as you do via the browser. There is no distinction.

But don't think they are the same, because they aren't.
Sure they can both download the Offline Installers, but that's where any similarity stops.
The old GOG Downloader was much lighter on resources, isn't also doing a whole bunch of other things, and feedback was better. Its main primary role was downloading, whereas Galaxy is an altogether other kind of beast, where downloading Offline Installers looks and feels and behaves like an afterthought.

The old GOG Downloader also took up far less screen real estate.

Galaxy runs terrible on my downloading PC, slow as buggery, especially once you start a download, and then navigation becomes torture, and I also cannot do anything else very easily on my PC. Admittedly my PC is not real powerful, and not my gaming PC, but it was certainly good at running the old GOG Downloader.

GOG should provide a Galaxy Lite.

How can it be answered?. The offline installers are the same whatever you download them from Galaxy or from the web browser
