So I reinstalled windows and didn't think about saving my games as most are through steam and it is very easy to just re-download them. But my GOG library is empty, at first I freaked out that there wasn't any uninstalled games in my list, The store page didn't say I had the game and wanted me to buy it again, and the FAQ says there is a limit on the number of times I could download/install it. Quite scarey but I've convinced myself I'm actually okay (I've only installed it once thus far). The FAQ says go to my account, which isn't in Galaxy at all and I worked out you have to click your account name to get to "my account". Okay fine... But the only place I could find my game was in purchase/gift history, and there is nothing there to click to add it to my library. I'm just completely lost. If I have to copy to key-code and add it to my library via the code surely the FAQ that told me to retrieve my game from "my account" would have said that so obviously that's not it.

If somebody can tell me how to install/play the game again that would be great but I'm still left with the need to know how to backup/re-add the backup to my library for next time.

Thanks in advance
Knifey

Top of this forum. Hover your cursor over 'Account'. When the drop-down menu appears, click on Library. Your games should be listed there. You can DL and install them manually. Galaxy should work for this as well though, as long as you're signed into it.

Also, there are no install limits or DL limits to games you buy here.

It says "YOUR GAMES LIBRARY IS CURRENTLY EMPTY"

But in order history it says Aug 14, 2015 > "KERBAL SPACE PROGRAM ADDED TO MY ACCOUNT"

so should I try re adding the code? Or do I need to get gog to fix my account?

Ah yes, of course.

Okay, that's damned weird. You could try the code again, but I doubt it will work. Likely going to need GOG staff intervention. Keep in mind it's Christmas and a weekend though, so they'll probably be slow to respond.

okay i sent a support email. lets hope gog is run by jews who are still hard at work lol. but seriously I don't mind if it takes a few days to get a reply :P I guess I'll play plague inc on my steam account and infect the world with a plague for my holiday cheer.
What FAQ were you reading that says there are limits on downloads and installs? GOG has never had a policy like that, you can download and install as many times as you want on as many computers as you own. As for your missing games issue, I would first try logging out and back in to your account, if the games still don't show up, contact support.
nvm

I misread it and read 'no limit' as 'limit'. I think it's just one of those things when you're skimming a paragraph. The word limit must have stuck out to me because I never considered there would be a limit, so why would they write the word limit if it wasn't something bad. lol. probably makes no sense, but it was just me misreading a real FAQ.

and to the comment above me, yes wouldn't it be lovely if all key resellers would go away and stop letting people know GOG exists and stop donating money to charity. There are just too many charities and businesses in the world as it is.
Maybe try going to https://secure.gog.com/account/refresh?

I've never used it - but it's posted all the time as a thing to try for symptoms such as what you are seeing...

Well... For starters it would be "lovely" if they could stop selling keys they got from unknown sources who bought keys with stolen credit card data.

I think charity doesn't want stolen money either ;)

Look... I don't know where you got your key, but it seems like you got it from G2A or a similar site. We had quite a lot of those topics over the last couple of months and it always was someone who got a cheap key from dubious sites. The problem with most of these key reseller sites is that they're no official resellers. They have no agreement with GOG. So how is it possible that they sell keys cheaper than GOG does? They have to pay the same for the games as we do! Short answer: It isn't. Long answer: Criminals purchase full price GOG keys with stolen credit card data and sell the keys to key reseller sites (or directly to end customers via a key reseller site). If you (the thief) haven't paid shit for the key, you can of course sell it dirt cheap. The key gets revoked when the owner of the stolen credit card files a complaint and charges back his money, but that's not the problem of the thief anymore. He's got your money now and you're left with an invalid key.
Whether the key was purchased through a grey area marketplace or not, IMO GOG should still inform people when they remove items from their library.

Yeah, I just replied to them actually and asked who's great customer service initiative it was to put in place a system that yanks games out of peoples libraries without any notification LOL. Just amateur. So many things are amateur, I was using their search feature on their site (galaxy app actually) and it doesn't even work right. I searched for craft, looking for mousecraft and no results found! excellent. But on topic, yes it was apparently bought with a stolen card. So, problem (and my future use of gog) over. It was my only game in my gog library. I payed as much for the game as I'd seen it on sale for so it didn't look suss. Never had the problem with steam so lesson learned I guess.
