GOG is my preferred platform of choice; it respects me as a patron of the electronic arts, and doesn't make me feel like some shady crook for disliking DRM. In fact, it shares my views on DRM, and doesn't treat me like a lurking thief, just waiting in the shadows to rip em off.
More games should be on GOG, to bolster the message to the gaming industry that DRM is not the only way forward, that actually treating your customers like respected clients, and not just another group of potential thieves, is a viable path towards prosperity.
To make this happen, I need your help.
There is a game, an awesome game, that is not yet on GOG. It deserves to be.
That game is called "Rogue Empire: Dungeon Crawler RPG". It is a traditional rogue-like that combines a bit of ADoM (Ancient Dominions of Mystery) and a bit of ToME (Tales of Maj'Eyal), and sees what comes out. And something REALLY good came out!

GOG's library is absolutely minuscule compared to Steam's.
I understand they want to avoid what happened to Steam during their greenlight era; ALOT of low-effort asset flips/achievement grinds got plopped out there, and it damaged Steams reputation as a source of good games, as well as made it MUCH harder for consumers to find the good games there were there, buried by all the crap :(

However, a quick look at "Rogue Empire" will reveal that it deserves to be on GOG. It's a REALLY good game. Rogue Empire has the lethality of AdoM, with the abilities and cooldowns of TOME. Rogue Empire presents a nice balance between the hard-core crunch of AdoM, and the streamlined nature of TOME; I like them both, but I find when I'm hankering for a rogue-like, I reach for Rogue Empire :).

Also, the only traditional rogue-likes I saw on GOG were ADoM, ToME, Neo Scavenger, Swords of the Starts: The Pit, and Tangledeep, that's it. Seriously GOG, you need to expand your catalog. Rogue Empire would be an excellent fit here: take a look?
Rogue Empire here if anyone wants to see her in action: Can't post links; sigh :(
Under my profile is the URL to the YoTube channel with LPs if you are willing to search for it; sorry :(

If you have a moment, consider clicking the link below to encourage GOG to add Rogue Empire to their store.

Note: I think the links are prevents me from posts; will remove and add later.
For now you'll have to navigate over to the community wishlist and type in "Rogue Empire" sorry. :(

I would love to pay for Nethack, Brogue and Dungeon Crawl Stone Soup here on GOG, but that's probably not going to happen.

But I agree, more berlin interpretation roguelikes to the people.

Edit: Now I recognize Rogue Empire, I stumbled in on the developer when he worked on the game live on his Twitch. Really friendly fellow, I highly recommend his channel.

It’s also up to the dev/publisher if they want to sell here, some don’t, even if they don’t want drm they might just not want the extra hassle.
Ya, he's a super cool guy who made a super cool game. He said he's tried putting it up on GOG twice, not sure what the issue is here. I'm hoping more community interest will help move things along. Like getting that community wishlist number moving :)

Concerning the game, "Rogue Empire", I've been having alot of fun with it. It's kind of a cross between ADoM (Ancient Dominions of Mystery) and ToME (Tales of Maj'Eyal), with it being heavier on the ADoM side of things. You have to eat, there are consumables that are actually consumed, not put on a cooldown, you track ammo; stuff like that. But there are also more special abilities like in ToME, so knowing when to use certain abilities and managing their cooldown, in addition to their other costs, such as time, mana, action, plays a factor as well.
Good actual rogue-likes would be nice...

not rogue-lite and first person shooter types that are an entirely different beast.

ADoM, ToME, Neo Scavenger, and Swords of the Starts: The Pit are all really good rogue-likes, and very different too.
That's my point. If the rogue-likes are all the same, why play more than one? That's why "Rogue Empire" belongs here;
it is both a good, fun game, and it is different enough from the others to deserve a place here.
GOG should welcome and cater to as many different palates as possible in order to sate the rogue-like hunger.

Why don't you think the above games are good? What do you hunger for? :)

Might want to add it to the Indie games you want to see released on GOG in 2020 thread for more visibility as well.

Thank you for the link; I haven't posted here enough to have access to posting links :(

Didn't know about that giant indie thread; will definitely post "Rogue Empire" over there once I can do links.

I've played ADOM, ToME and The Pit. (Though The Pit is my least played one) and enjoy them a lot. Also played DOOMRL, CastleVaniaRL, some Diablo RL.

Hard to say what i'm looking for. Other than The Pit and ToME i don't really recall any Rogue-likes here.

You forgot Caves of Qod and Jupiter Hell

Edit: And also Rezrog and
Bionic Dues

Dungeons of Dredmor is another I'd like to see on GOG.
The "most traditional" ones are all free and have been free for eons.

The only roguelite I wanna see here! I own it on Steam, and it`s a nice and funny little RPG.
Thanks for putting that game on the radar. I had no idea it existed but it remembers me of ADOM, which is a great thing.
Voted.
Voted for Rogue Empire! GOG really needs to get that game!
