GoG used to have some of the ARMA games before they went away after the gamespy shutdown or at least that was the excuse used.

Anime-BlackWolf: I cannot imagine the costs of re-negotiating the licence for titles like "Comanche", "Apache Longbow" and others (including the tank games). :(
These are not sport cars so what sort of licence could be there? I seriously doubt you need a licence to sell a tank simulator game. Not to mention, steam sells Spectrum Holobyte's Tank no problem.

Speaking of tank games in general, it would be nice to have Steel Panthers games here.

Tanks are manufactured by a company and then sold to the military/state. Kind of like military airplanes and helicopters.

And of cause those weapon companies give the licence to make "digital versions" of their vehicles to the studios, just like the mentioned racing games. And just like in those racing games these licences expire/have expired.

And do the math: if SEGA does not see the money/financial benefit from renewing their old Ferrari licence for the VERY popular "Out Run" franchise, what will be the odds with an old war-machine simulator from the 90s, which HAS it's fanbase, but far fewer possible sale numbers compared to racing games? Do the math...

By this logic every shooting game that features AK-47 would need to pay a licence fee, and free games like flightgear with hundreds of airplanes wouldn't exist.

Seriously, I have heard about licencing in sport games but never about it for a military simulator game. The industries are just way different. So I don't think this is the real reason why such games are not available here (as opposed to, say, issues with tracing the rights and limited market potential).

igrok: ... (as opposed to, say, issues with tracing the rights and limited market potential).
The combination of ALL those problems (licence fees, rights clearance, updating games for modern OS, limited appeal) and the time (aka money in the end) needed for those actions kills the sell-appeal for almost every publisher.

In that way military simulations and sports simulations are almost certain to never reappear after their initial release.

It is sad, but we need to accept that and find other ways to get these old games. :(

No tanks, I prefer running around with infantry...
I used to love Panzer Commander
We need the original Scorched Earth - the mother of all games v1.5, written by Wendell Hicken (1991) here on GOG.

Oh, well, sweet memories :) Although I always preferred Tank Wars for some reason.
Does anyone remember Tank Racer?
