According to MaGog, on GOG, Turkey is in the Rest of the World region, for which the prices equal US prices except in the case of Sheltered. On Steam on the other hand, Turkey is in their separate region (with Turkish lira support, but the Turkish lira has been fluctuating within 3% of the mean for a year, so these fluctuations cannot account for a price difference of $10 for a $60 game).

So yes, GOG did in fact decide the price of the game in Turkey, by not implementing Turkey as a separate region. So the OP is quite right to complain.

Steam prices in Turkey is lower compared to US. No Man's Sky is 50USD in Turkey, but 60USD in US.
It's not GOG that is expensive than Steam. It's Steam that provides games cheaper to those live in Turkey.

Economies of scale probably. Because steam is far, far bigger than the few remaining competitors they're likely have lower costs per game.

If the only thing that matters to you is price then you'll find steam is lower on average.

The real question is whether your reasons for wanting to buy from gog instead of steam are something you feel is worth paying a little extra for.

To be serious though. Even if a game is on GoG I'll wait for the price to go down before I purchase. That doesn't always mean I wait to play the game.

I wish so too, but Steam is big and GOG is small. In my region the prices of GOG and Steam are more similar than for you. Often they are equal, sometimes GOG is up to 10% more expensive. I decided that this is worth it and continue supporting GOG and preferrring it over Steam. But I can understand that there is a limit to that if the price advantage of Steam gets too big.

Let's hope GOG continues to grow, because that is the most important factor for keeping prices low (which supports growth in turn - it's a circle).

ı live in turkey yes gog expensive (seems funny enough) bcosue steam uses turkish money. but if you search turkish second buy sites like sahibinden.com or letgo you can always find old drm free games with more cheaper than steam and gog plus they are box have manuels etc. most of gog games uses dosbox the actual games not work dosbox but they mostly work on new windows. only dos games can be problematic. gog need to relase physcal media or have get turkish money. also note that new games on steam not cheap if you go beyond more than 2013 something they are not cheap every one saying. for example ı wait first dark souls to get cheap it never go any steam sale and they even remove the orginal dark souls and skyrim on store. ı get it both physcal dark souls limtied editon comes with artwork same prize as dark souls remaster lol. ı get it fallout 3 goty new vegas goty 5 dollar somethng with actual manuels etc. so digital gaming not the best. ı get first assassins creed and dead space physcal 9 dollar on turkish shops like game stops. gog also not have all games like my favorte old game Nocturne or old sega games. ı ended get sega saturn and 10 game the real rather than pay 1000 old digital games. internet fast now on turkey but you need a good storege to get all that digital games. lets be face it you can play 50 games maybe best in old era or 100. more than that become shit and not worth even 1 dollar on digital. but if you found physcal game for that worthless game you can sell even expensive lol. and ı also have old build windows xp ı tested some gog games not even opened like turok and diablo.

Ok, you don't get a DVD case / artwork / DVD / manual ... me, I stopped buying physical PC games when they added online DRM and removed paper documentation from the box.
These days they sell "code-an-a-box" games...it's silly, but not that much sillier than a DVD with files but mandatory Steam activation. And often those files on DVD *really* need that huge day 1 patch.

Why would you pay full price for No Man's Sky instead of waiting a little bit for a sale?
