I'm sad that it failed. The pace was a little hard to keep up with, but I think it would have been ok. Thanks yogs for all the hard work you put into it!
I would be interested in at least the roles/rand just to see how my reads were fairing. Had 8 people in my "not a wolf" pile including myself (and Zork), so down to 9 possibles with various degrees of scum to townliness.

Ostensibly it would've slimmed down pretty quickly if the group could've just made it through D1.

My initial read was "lynch wyrm over RW" so at least that was right. ;)

Maybe yogs will post everything here, would be cool to see the whole setup and roles. I really want to know if Zork and Nacho were legit in their claims.

I think you're right and if we had made it past Day 1 it would have been ok.

I've seen the setup - yogs mentioned in his closing post he would PM it to people that wanted it and he had sent it to me this a.m. when it was clear he had more people leaving than available subs.

I think he should just post it. A few quibbles, but there's some good stuff there.

Guess I should edit that in case yogs decides to un-cancel the game. Cat's a bit out of the bag, though.

bler144: 1 was and 1 was telling a whopper, and that bluff, ironically, was arguably part of what brought the game down.

Also, well-played by Trent. A few pings, but I would've rated you town-leaning.
Would've been fun to play it out to see if I could have lasted. I have a feeling Nacho was full of it

The question no one seemed to ask (most surprisingly drealmer/wyrm) is how in the heck would that role possibly be balanced.

IIRC yogs is also on the record somewhere in terms of an opinion on RNG game mechanics pro/anti. But possible that's just something he and I PMed about.

My reads were pretty solid. Two of my three top suspects were scum, ironically both my first two initial gut reads. The other two were a little surprising, but not cleared. I'll call that a win.

You were the lowest on my radar. Didn't clear you, but didn't suspect you at all.

I was going to push for a NK of Nacho if the game had continued

The pace did finally seem to be slowing down some. I was worried about the coming weekend having a huge burst of activity, though.

Eh. I think the initial pace is what killed my ability to blend. I was pretty sure I wasn't going to make it through the game. Just couldn't keep up, and apparently simply not posting (a la Hunter) might have worked better for me, except it would have made the GOGers more suspicious.

There was no reason to go there, and then look at how the MUers were reacting to the claim.

I was kind of wondering about Newcomb's door claim. A door is walking around the dungeon with us, and he wasn't asking nearly as many questions as it seemed like he should have been.
I'm so sorry to yogs that he felt he needed to discontinue the game, and I'm sorry to all the gog players expecting a gog experience and getting overwhelmed.

It does calm down after day one quite a lot, and there are some games where the banter and spam gets overwhelming (and sometimes it's scum trying to flood the game to make it unreadable, but that's rarer.)

Basically it's based on a style of play that's more conversational. The conversation, especially when you're familiar with people, can give you some decent early reads. But that usually starts to calm day two when there's actual stuff to work with and analyze, though it will still be around.

I hope that those who were put off by this give it another try, once you know what to expect and know what people are doing it gets a lot easier to sift out the noise, ignore what's not important at least to you, and move on to the other stuff. But I know it's jarring at first.

I enjoyed playing with you guys for what little time there was and I was hoping that bler would be stepping in. I was starting to town read rw and thought he'd be someone I could bounce some ideas off of as I liked his approach when he posted.

I was going to ask nacho about his role today because last night another game ended where nacho was scum, and in the Mafia chat he was pointing out my strengths and weaknesses, and in discussing what day I might get it together when I'm having a weak game called me a ticking town bomb. I read that and went coincidence, probably not.

Right?

I was on you for tone more than posting frequency, fwiw. As your lethargy continued my gut read dialed back a bit, though yeah, under the circumstances I still would've voted you. At absolute best you were null.

TammyTown: I...
Out of curiosity what were your reads in the game?

Perhaps I'm biased, but I think I would have had pretty much the same tone if town. There was simply SO MUCH to wade through, and it wasn't until today that it was showing signs of lightening up. I spent waaaay too much time yesterday slogging through posts. At least it ended before I really started the ISO's that I was planning.

Hard to brain when you have no idea what the second half of the thread contains.

I didn't think it was that bad, but then I spent the summer following several of the champs games, the mimefia game (one reason I was reading Tom as slight town), and then just subbed into Tammy's game where I subbed in at the start of D3 and the game was already at like 2100 posts, and my slot (town) was the most likely to be lynched.

That....was a shit-ton of reading and doing it starting from behind and having to play defense and give reads straightaway.

Honestly I think this game would've worked better - even for many of the gog players - if the timing were different.

TammyTown: snip
tom was in your Dante game as well, wasn't he? I didn't pick up on it during the game, but thought I saw his name on the player list in the post-game.

No idea who his alt was, though.
