Having used it the prior game, I would just say to allow post-merge edits (but still disallow actual edits) and with that change GoG is fine if clearly not as good.

Having to wait 10 minutes to post or accidentally post-merging is a hard habit to break for people who've played elsewhere and other than the new page bug is definitely the weakest part of playing on this forum imo.

/shrug
yeah, just allow merge-posts and let it be mod-discretion for edit violations

we can all keep an eye out like we always do "yep, just a merge" and it should be fine
I, personally, favor leaving the post merge rule in place, with usual penalties of heartless mockery for violations. My mental image is sort of like all of us being in an apartment complex together. I trust you guys, but I'd still prefer to lock my door when I leave.

No worries, we all have keys to your place.

Mine is in a form of a brick and for some reason it only opens the window...
So here's what I'm thinking.

It's not really fair for me to take the GOG Mafia game and move it off-site. Nobody here really asked for it, the GOGfather isn't involved, and it's just too much of a presumption to expect that long-time members of this community would register for another site simply because I say so. I apologize for the confusion and angst this may have caused.

However - in order to run the game that I want to run, I need a player count higher than what I can generate on GOG... and quite frankly, I would like to learn how to mod with the MU software.

So: I am proposing that I resign from formally hosting GOG game #44. That slot will pass to the next name in the queue. Whomever inherits it, I'll be the first to sign up for that game.

My game here will migrate to MU, with the signup list from here as intact as whomever is willing to make the move. Whichever players we lose, those slots will remain open with priority to GOG users to fill in the next few days, and if I can't find GOG players for those slots, I'll open it to MU players to fill out the balance.

That way players like Wyrm, cristi, trent, and whomever I can bring with me get a chance to play in the game, and for those of whom it's not convenient or desirable, there will be another GOG game coming along at that #44 position to satisfy.

Sound fair to everybody?

I'd like to have a formal check-in from all the GOG users to confirm who would be willing to play my game on MU. Hopefully we can do that and make this work for everybody.

Thanks guys!
At least for the moment I can really only agree to sub regardless of the site.

Might know better (y/n) after Wed.

Works for me. I'm still in for Yog's game.

Looks like JMich is up next in the hosting list.

Send me a link, I'll play.
Sounds like an idea that divides the player base. What is this? 2016 election on repeat? :P

Yeah, sorry, I'm trying to figure the best way out that pisses off the fewest people.

Not trying to divide people - but give people a choice instead.

I'll take you off the list. :(
I won't migrate over to MU. No time or inclination for another forum. So I'll stay here and won't be available as replacement for this off-site game.

Soooo pretty much the exact opposite of the 2016 election?
I'll go over. You only live once yadah yadah...

I'm trying to find reasons to be willing to join, but so far all I got is that I want to be part of this because I was in the original as well and I won...

Keep me in mind, but I make no promises.
