No, you totally misunderstood that. Shooting YOU is always acceptable. No matter how often. Because it's you and you are probably scum. But shooting Scene repeatedly was not acceptable. Especially in hindsight, because he turned out to be town.

Yes. It is somewhat tongue in cheek. :-) Also I had promised in pre-game to kill his alt. Since that was already taken out, I had to shoot him instead. ;-)

But joking aside, there's a kernel of truth. We don't have much to go on in a Russian roulette game and SPF is the only one who struck me as slightly scummy. Apart from deliasq. There I was mostly shooting in the dark on the chance that his 'let's suspect players for being present' statement actually was a newbie-scum-player trying to make a case out of nothing. As it turned out, I was wrong and he was a newbie-town-player trying to make a case out of nothing.

But SPF, an experienced player, shooting twice at a townie without even having a reason to do so, looks off. So, maybe he's scum. Everyone else, apart from you, is in the big 'neutral' pile. You are leaning town, obviously, but not certified town. As has already been discussed.

So my order of preference for shooting targets:

SPF
some lurker
anyone else
.........[no shooting below this line, for now]..........
dedo
myself

And I suggest to all my fellow town players to restrict their shooting attempts to SPF or lurkers. The latter has the added benefit of moving the game forward, because we don't have to wait for a Lurker's shot that may not come in a long while.

Mostly the latter, the inherent speed of the game prevents me from forming any real reads. Scene's post about what the town should do rubbed me up the wrong way and I felt like I'd lost my place in the queue by having my shot cancelled (it would have been different if I'd had a click).

I'd probably shoot Joe next, just because it'd be a travesty if he is scum and won by not playing.

Everyone but Joe has posted, and everyone but Joe and Hyper have taken a shot.
Dedo killed ZFR, already been over that, strong town lean.
Lift killed deliasq, he's very determined to kill SPF (going as far as to suggest we should all shoot him despite SPF really not doing much). Possible Scum.
SPF took two shots at Supplementscene and killed him, supplement actually suggested slowing down and thinking things through instead of just wildly shooting (kind of missing the point I know, but overall a townie suggestion) so SPF taking him out seems a little off.

That said they are both quite active, and with ZFR dead I'd be inclined to believe the last scum may be hiding till a few more town bite the bullet. Unfortunately ZFR's only real interaction was with himself so we don't get any hints there.

It may just be OMGUS but agent is certainly looking a possibility, as is Hyper. Joe could be town or scum and his absence really doesn't tell us anything.

I guess that's the equivalent of sitting down opposite your enemy, staring them dead in the eyes with ferocious intensity, watching them lift the gun to their temple, click the trigger without even blinking, and placing the gun in front of you. Then going to pick it up and dropping it on your foot.

When I next get the opportunity I'll try and shoot:

1 - sprimalf, focused on supplementscene - I guess it's more rude than it is a scumtell, but perhaps supplementscene's an easy target who's not going to get upset about being targetted unfairly, so it's a good cover.
2 - HypersomniacLive - Hasn't shot anybody yet? What's going on? Waiting for it to get to the 6th chamber eh? Who are you going to shoot when it gets there? You better make sure your aim is good.
3 - Carr, his reaction to ZFR's shot is false.
