Of course it is possible that such reveals are in the flavour. But if you start taking the flavour serious, where does it stop? How would it work? Did they both shoot at the same time? Then why didn't Joe say 'oh, and there was someone else too!'
Or did some scum arrive after town!Joe and just shot the body for teh lulz?

Also, if we go by flavour, shouldn't the Vig be the one who executes people face to face and scum should be the one who sneaks around shooting people in the back? But Joe said he shot from behind.

All in all I think flavour isn't a good guide in this game. Especially since Poppy already said that he would change the flavour around.

So let me change your question: if it wasn't for the flavour that Joe brought up, would you believe him?

I will soon enough. Mostly just going to let it hang out there and see how people react before I get over-share-y. /shrug

Just think - if I am bluffing to save a buddy you are one counter-claim away from victory! And we're not up against deadline, so no rush.

But for now it's either:
a) I investigated someone working very hard to make this train happen who is not town, or
b) I investigated someone named Joe who is town unless he's godfather...godfather claiming vig who did the NK on N2 for some curious tactical reason and is named some character I don't even remember because they were that unimportant to the series.

No offense to that character and her(?) backstory intended either way.
