You "don't like this kind of voting", and think random votes are meaningless to you, yet in the previous game your third post (#50) said the following- Explain?

Demanding that I explain and defend myself based on something posted in another thread is completely uncalled for. I also don't understand how it is even allowed.

Actually, it's not unheard of at all. All previous games are a matter of public record and if people want to analyse your previous play and compare it to the present they can.
It's referred to as your "meta" and it's absolutely fair game (but you are of course within your rights to object and refuse to answer the question as you are with any question in the game).

Meta is more like your character, playstyle and thought processes across several Mafia games. You'll see it come up very often. For example, I believe that:

- It's easy to tell if Lift is scum or town based on how vigilant he is in the early game
- scene tends to focus too much on game mechanics than who is acting scummy but that's not alignment indicative

These observations of mine are based on several interactions with them in many previous games where I was also playing. The more you play, the more consistent patterns you'll see in many players.

If I say that I don't understand something, I really do actually mean just that.

Voting yourself out of the game early means you won't really get past the "too noob" level and you gained a few scumpoints as scum only really self-vote to cut the day early and provide less info to Town e.g. reactions and other players' votes. I get that you're frustrated right now, but self-voting will make your frustration worse, not better.

Either way it is very normal to look for inconsistencies across game. I used to have my whole playstyle based around that. The same way you look at previous Days to see someone inexplicably changed their opinions, you can look at old games where someone was ie. town to see if they behave sharply different than that to figure out they are likely not town this time. (Unless they are GR. In that case they'll expalin to you they forgot what their whole world-view was 5 hours ago.)

You misunderstand me, but I think that it was entirely my fault. What I mean is "should not have been playing in the first place" - go get some more experience elsewhere with other less experienced people. Don't be playing with people that have played over 70 games now as it cannot be fun for them to have to explain things to someone that clearly doesn't know what they're doing. If I didn't have the kitchen fire, I would have reached this conclusion during the prior game and not have joined this one.

See Vitek's post above. You can look for inconsistencies across games just as you would across days.

Let's go for an oversimplified example and say you played with Guyus for about 5 games. Each time you play with him, he was Town and he voted for someone he thought was the most scummy, always the guy at #1 in his scum list. In the 6th game, he votes #2 or #3 instead. This change of behavior may imply he's not Town this time.

It's something you acquire by playing several games with the same players.

With this logic you wouldn't gain any Mafia experience. My first game in this community was Secret Hitler #2 where I subbed someone else and my first game proper #57. By then I had zero experience with either game and had to face off with people who played at least 25 games more or less. That didn't stop me from enjoying the game and everything afterwards minus some exceptions.

You'll also find each Mafia community does things differently. Here you have to hammer to get a lynch. In other places the day usually ends without a hammer and the person with the most votes gets lynched. In fact, the hammerer can be viewed as scummy or suspicious while here it's a necessary evil. Yeah some people here can be pretty harsh on newbies but ultimately you have to remember they're doing what they can to achieve their win condition, as should you.
