Catventurer has requested to be subbed out due to health issues.

She requires resting - that means not even TV is allowed. I'm not keen on starting a late Day while looking for a replacement, so I believe it's better for the game if I delay the start of the Day until I can find a replacment.

Some of the class were surprised to see Natsume-sensei being late again. This time she made it to class almost an hour after its scheduled start, slamming her desk with both of her hands.

Lina Inverse (Atlo) has been hospitalized. She was Town Cop.

Most of the classmates knew the gig before "Lina-chan" left Natsume-sensei's mouth. They chose not to say anything in return, so the stressed-out teacher decided to continue. "Well, at the very least, Tomoe-san is recovering, and so is Sengoku-san, so not all hope is lost."

Alright. Atlo's death was expected. Scum couldn't do anything else. Catventurer (now Joppo) seemed quite towny, Telika seemed very towny to me. Catte is confirmed by Cop and Yogs is confirmed by being uncontested Mason. That leaves dedo and me and I know I'm Town. So by pure exclusion principle, dedo is probably the remaining Scum. (and we know that there is remaining Scum, because otherwise the game would be over)

But there is more:
- dedo was against the Mason claiming and getting a confirmed Towny. At the time I thought his strong conviction a sign of a genuine opinion. But probably a confirmed Towny would just have been genuinely dangerous to dedo's faction. (yes, Scene was agains the Mason's claiming too and was Town - but Scene very often champions strategies that are against his own faction)
- dedo defended Joe - even though with entirely true arguments. But still.
- dedo felt the need to concoct scenarios that would allow him to doubt a Cop read Yesterday. Even going to the length of speculating about two Godfathers and/or Atlo being scum. ... Sure, he mentioned Occam's Razor, but he didn't use it. Instead he prepared the ground for doubting Atlo, should that become necessary.

All in all I am very confident that dedo is our final scum.

It is okay to say I had a concussion.

Anyway very quick update as I need to go back to resting - I had a setback yesterday and ended up at ER. CT showed no brain bleeding, good. Pain was very much unbearable all day and most of the night.

I'm doing much better today with pain. Head still hurts but not like yesterday.
Unfortunately, did some word salad - not good.

Also thank you very much to replacement person.

Yeah, I was all looking forward to the day, because Dedopono makes me laugh whether as a falsely outraged mafioso or as righteously exasperated townie (spoiler, it's the former). But Cat's departure and its reasons darken the atmosphere.

Still, we may be wrapping it up.

I didn't really get mafia vibes from cat, or, more precisely, I got vibes that would be very weird coming from mafia. I doubt Catte would be a second godfather, Catte is suspiciously inactive but my belief is based on the setting itself. Lifth could be mafia, but his reasoning seemed too townish to me, at least since day 2. And Dedo is a mafioso, so there's that.

It's not just the mason thing, but I really got the impression that buck, joe and ded were working as a team. Like, the three of them alone on lifth, dedo and buck copy-pasting the same joe defense from their scumchat, and that sudden weird dance with their buck vote, buck claim, unvote... It seemed all too in sync, that day's end had a weird flow when it came to these three.

Plus, they were my suspected trio before two of them flipped mafia. It tends to reinforce myimpression.

So, I vote Dedoporno too. Unless we get new interesting data, he's my prime suspect. Afterwards would be Lifth, and if not him, I'd be a bit at a loss between Cat and Catte (and disappointed if Catte, because scum inactivity is a bit antigamey, and double godfather is tough).

I've waited for the next post because, uh, it would feel awkward to ask you for a bump. :-/

Still, as weird as it sounds, I'm a bit relieved that your problem was so material and punctual. I was fearing something more systemic, more long term, like some acute burnout of sorts, or depressive episode, or dunno. Anyway, get well.

And back to the game :

Another thing about Dedo was, indeed, his defense of Joe, along with his tendency to misrepresent votes or events. I refer to my post 740. Dedo was wrong saying (in 692) that I came fourth to Buck's votes, and this reminded me another case where he had been inaccurate. I hadn't reacted at the time, but in post 491 he exaggerated Joe's closeness to a lynch, in order to ease the pressure on him. He described Joe as L-2 when he was L-3, and, well, given that Joe was scum, it could have been overprotective of his buddy...

Anyway, that's enough little things accumulated.

Lifthrasil: Yes, and bucktooth made an effort in #537 to point out that Joe's claim was uncontested. Spinning the tale that Tracker is such a common PR, that one should expect a counter claim if it were false. This was said in a defense of Joe against a vote by Catventurer.

Of course, buck also softened that defense by pointing out that Joe might be a Scum-Tracker (which is kind of rare in my experience). But it is interesting that he didn't doubt the Tracker bit.

Thinking about it, Tracker would be quite a safe false claim for Scum in this game: they had a Godfather, so they basically knew that there was a Cop. Two investigators in such a small game is possible, but not very likely. So they had a good shot at faking one of the other investigator kinds with the reasonable assumption that they wouldn't be counter claimed. All in all Joe's claim doesn't look very good after the flips we got.

But we have time right now. So questions first: whom did you track, Joe, and what was the result?
Lift does have some not-that-great looks around early vote flip-flopping between Scene and Joe, but this post above (and then subsequent posts) pretty much buries Joe.

My takeaway as I ISO people is that the last scum, whomever he may be, is playing really well.

My thanks to Atlo for investigating catte, because otherwise I'd just be doing that yeet without a second thought.

Yes, if Telika is the last scum, that would be amazing and would, probably, lead to a well deserved scum victory. But I am reasonably sure that Telika is Town.
