Yes, and bucktooth made an effort in #537 to point out that Joe's claim was uncontested. Spinning the tale that Tracker is such a common PR, that one should expect a counter claim if it were false. This was said in a defense of Joe against a vote by Catventurer.

Of course, buck also softened that defense by pointing out that Joe might be a Scum-Tracker (which is kind of rare in my experience). But it is interesting that he didn't doubt the Tracker bit.

Thinking about it, Tracker would be quite a safe false claim for Scum in this game: they had a Godfather, so they basically knew that there was a Cop. Two investigators in such a small game is possible, but not very likely. So they had a good shot at faking one of the other investigator kinds with the reasonable assumption that they wouldn't be counter claimed. All in all Joe's claim doesn't look very good after the flips we got.

But we have time right now. So questions first: whom did you track, Joe, and what was the result?

I'm not saying he's the killer if that's what you're referring to. It's sort of an ongoing "joke" that spawned from an Among Us game we had with Vitek a while ago. I've been making use of it at opportune moments in the past few games. It only works when things have been cleared up though.

Well, our Cop is out in the open. Trent is not in the game. We have a claimed Tracker (whom scum didn't target even though the Bodyguard had announced that he would protect the Cop). We have a hidden Mason, who's reveal won't damage Town. ... I don't think that we have a Doctor (due to the Bodyguard) and all in all I don't expect many other PRs. So I really don't see a reason not to do a mass claim now. It can help to solve the game and our probably most valuable PR is already exposed. So I'm for the mass claim.

But before we do that, I would like to hear Joe's report whom he says that he targeted and what that targeted person did. Otherwise it would be too easy for a falsely claimed Tracker to tailor his 'read result' to the claimed roles.

The tracker claim occurred towards the end of Day 2 when I was way behind and not able to keep up with the thread. There was a point where I was skim reading the thread and voted for Joe, only Dedo told me essentially no no don't do that as Joe is role claimed Town Tracker and everyone believed it true... so I withdrew my vote.


And... I have some theories about this game in terms of roles, but I'm going to wait until after Alto reveals who he investigated. I think he found a second mafia member and that when the person flips, it will confirm things for me. Until then, I'll let people say things to either incriminate themselves..... or not.

The Mason claimed Yesterday and revealed himself publicly Today. You're just not paying attention.

However.

This is GOG, and one thing that is resolutely true about GOG mafia is we design absurdly over-complicated, role-heavy setups.

Four players have died, and those four players all had top-tier roles.

A dead godfather necessitates a cop, so that's good to go. A dead mason necessitates another mason, so that's in.

I have to concede it is possible Mafia has got a roleblocker and a role cop, and every townie has something and this is just a straight role madness game.

He was careful to not say it explicitly but still it did count as an implicit lie.

He said there was no counter-claim. I pointed out that

1) it didn't mean it was true, and

2) even it it was true, it didn't mean Joe was town

so it's far far from "everybody believe joe is town tracker".

To me it was. Csanjuro/Yog was the last person to have a say about the missing Mason so it was either him or one of the people who considered not coming out right away a fair play. You advertised his new avatar instantly and I was pretty certain what I was going to see there. It turned out to be a little less visible than I thought but it was essential what I expected. Anyway, I suppose people have different opinions about things so I agree that not everyone would consider that a CLAIM claim.
