bucktoothgamer: Confirmed or not, WHY would the Mafia target a VT specifically in a game known to have power roles out there. Especially the night cycle right after that VT gets "certified" any protector type role is going to gravitate towards that VT
This I see as an incoherent argument which honesty I strongly question. Looks like an anything-goes rhetoric, in which the certified townie is simultaneously described as important to the game ("of course all protective roles will run to him") and negligible for the game ("of course the mafia will ignore it").

In addition to the downplay of the impact of town certifications (reduction of the load of suspicion/interpretations, reduction of the list of suspects, reduction of the possible combinations of scumteam/buddying, etc).

Even this discussion here would feel extremely different, and would be processed differently, if it was defined as a constructive exchange between honest people trying to solve some conundrum. But the added load of "okay, he's also probably trying to bullshit us" makes it something completely different.

But again, what matters more than all that, are the arguments pushed forward. And how they are "reasoning -> conclusion" versus how they are "conclusion -> reasoning".

my name is anime catte: When do you remember me using anything other than a cat for an avatar? It's been years.
You're so lurky, it's hard to tell what's going on well anyway. I just want to believe that you're the town kitty and since nobody is really campaigning against you, that's what I'm going with. Town kitty!

*pets the kitty gently*
Bookmark Post - Since the soonest that I'll get online tomorrow is two hours before Day 2's deadline, this post is primarily for me so that I don't have to do a lot of backtracking in case there isn't another update from Pooka before the day ends.

Current Votes:
Liftraisal? (2) - supplementscene (#279), JoeSapphire (#319)
supplementscene (1) - Liftraisal? (#382)
dedoporno (1) - Telika (#335)
Catte (1) - yogsloth (#415)

It takes six votes to lynch someone.

---

Comment for everyone - Please do not be spread out over four different people when I get online tomorrow morning. It would make things a lot easier for the mafia to spread out their vote and create a mislynch.

Also I'd be lying if I didn't say that I have some reservations about lynching Lift considering that the only people voting for him are in Telika's mafia suspect pool. If I'm willing to put some stock into it, Dedo doesn't disagree with it, and Catte is borrowing it - then it is also something to be mindful of. I'm only bringing it up now so that nobody can wait until one hour before the Day 2 end deadline to throw a wrench into things by bringing it up then.

supplementscene: 1. Before he voted for Frost he send he read Frost as leaning Town.
2. Voting Frost for claiming Mafia is understandable
3. What isn't understandable is having no reads other than an initial reason to lynch someone.
4. Therefore Lift is not trying to solve the game
5. Why is Lift not trying to solve the game?

Telika: My re-read was :

Lifth defended Frost about Joe's random vote (defending Frost on that is scummy, Lifth did it in a non-committal way that I tend to associate to scum discretion but could also be townie cautiousness).
Lifth voted Frost on silly grounds (Frost's joke, but also Lifth defended Frost when Frost voted based on Joe's joke).
THEN -a post I had missed in my notes- he added other reasons to his vote (post 134 about Frost's vote-hopping).
And his vote stayed till the end (god I love my telikatron forumafiavision votoscope display).

Now Scen accuses Lifth on the ground that Lifth didn't express suspicion to anyone else than Frost. i have to check if it's true, but if it is... it doesn't seem very exceptional and worthy of singling out, in this game, unless I'm mistaken.

So, I'd like clarifications -by Scene and Joe- on the reasons to accuse Lifth. Again, I'm all for Lifth to turn out mafia, it would make me feel super clever with my help post psychoanalysis. I'm mentally all primed for that. But... right now Lifth feels somewhat solid to me, which rotates my suspicion towards Joe and Scene.
There's more than that. Lift also voted for Joe, who was absent and probably should of been subbed at the stage Lift voted for him.

What's more is he twice claimed I was rolefishing. But in his post where he votes for me, he alludes to the fact I could be town far too much for it to sound sincere and in line with his previous belief that I was rolefishing as Scum. It's almost like a get out when I flip Town. I have copied and posted this post below:

The problem is, historically Scene's idea of 'trying to solve the game' is regularly very, very weird. Sometimes he gets some strange idea into his head and even when it is totally illogical no amount of explaining will make him see that he is wrong. That makes him very hard to read. Because it is hard to distinguish him being wrong and acting strange out of habit from being wrong intentionally to pursue a scum agenda. But he is the best lead I got so far. So, with the approaching deadline, I think here lies our best chance at getting scum.

vote Scene
Time is ticking away

vote Catte

I'd also go for Joe, buck, Lift in that order. As a matter of fact I prefer Joe over Catte but that's splitting the votes even more and Catte already has one ping on him anyway.

@Yog, what's your take on Joe?

@Yog, what's your take on Joe?
I've just gone through 10 pages of Control Search on Catte. He's not solving anything whatsoever since his question to Frosty early in the game about Frosty not reading the set up to know about the fascist Day Chat. Most of his posts are about set up.

I'd be quite on board with a Catte lynch for these reasons. Even if he is Town, if he isn't solving now, will he be solving later in the game?

I'm also baffled why the likes of Telika is reading Catte town leaning on this basis. At best he's NAI bu Mafia do not need to solve because they already know roles. So not solving can be a strong Scum scent too.

I can say similar signs coming from Joe. He's mainly been AWOL but when he shows up the amount of chat is like getting blood from a stone.
I have reason to believe Catte is innocent.

Telika: Okay, means that Atlo and Lifth are also leaning town, for me ? Feels odd. I've spent so much time imagining them to be scumbuddies.
You know those 2 I mentioned who I would dread and be paranoid about to be scum? It was YOU and Lift.

I would vote on Joe and Lift. Still waiting for an answer from Joe regarding his vote for Lift though.

I'm not shocked by any of that to be fair. Firstly, we're all in the same mindset about you. I made you a list of issues that I have with you, and I agree that a lot of your posts are rolebaity (starting with your A B C hypotheses on why Lifth didn't accuse more people, at post 279). And a lot of us are hesitant to see you as scum and lynch you, because of frosty/atli reasons (too scum for scum?). It's a bit absurd and insane, but it seems to be a widely shared impression, and as it's also mine I can't really blame others for it.

And the vote for Joe (323) shouldn't shock you either. It's an accusation of no contribution, and yourself went a bit lynchy-the-lurkery (340) so you should understand it. You're even turning towards Catte on these grounds essentially.

By the way, Catte and Joe are both among my suspects for these very reasons as well. So I'm not sure there's a big difference of reasoning there. (Now I wonder if it's a mere difference of target due to Joe and you being scumbuddies and not Catte. That's a potential double standard to consider if you or Joe flip scum.)

what was the question sorry?

avatar
JoeSapphire: apathy is more of a town-catte tell however...
avatar
dedoporno: Who da scumz, Joe??
sorry yes. here's what i think

Town -

catv - she's gone mad with apathy
dedo - that post about 'is bucktooth town'
yogsloth - he has had the opportunity to say 'just trust me and everything will be fine' and hasn't. town.
catte - apathy and something interesting he said day 1
telika - fighting hard against the malaise

Townish -
scene - probably a bodyguard, acting like town scene
bucktooth - scum bucktooth was quite different to normal bucktooth, this looks normal?
atlo - sincere and entertaining, probably should be in the town pile only i don't know what he's capable of

huh. that leaves lift as a scum team on his own.

Does catv make sense on a team with lift? Her scumbuddy getting heat with no driving force to argue against might be a cause for apathy. Do we know how many scums there are? Frostburn said something about a solo scum...
Also fun fact.

Ten minutes before the deadline, the wagonned mafioso will go all "hey i am the mason i am the mason" and the genuine mason will barely have time to go "uh no, I am", and people will unvote, and we'll have a no lynch.

Yes, I cheated by reading posts 463-501 (I know, we're not supposed to read posts that aren't written yet, sorry, won't do it again).

Never, out of sheer principle.

Why? Anything in particular?

Go back some, look a bit harder and you should be able to see it.

Well, technically there is one other person who can be Lift's buddy without affecting your list as displayed here.
