I'm intrigued by this line from buck:

Frostburn isn't that interesting here as there are basically 3 options from regarding his side:

1. Town and didn't read the rules so doesn't know scum have day-chat.
2. Scum and intentionally makes a LAMIST remark.
3. Scum who hasn't read the rules, isn't aware their day-chat is public information and he just acts as Town who doesn't know unintentionally.

On the other hand buck's question goes along making a joke instead of correcting him on the obvious misconception of known game mechanisms.

Same three scenarios should be valid for buck but the likelihood seems to differ.

If both Frost and buck are scum how likely is neither of them read the rules, weren't notified by their assumed other teammates and both pretended in the same way accidentally?

If Frost is Town but buck is scum who is aware that the day-chat is public domain wouldn't he use the opportunity to scold Town!Frostburn about it and call him LAMIST?

If buck is Town he can have skipped/misunderstood the rules on his own and not recognized whatever!Frostburn's mistake.

Or is buck so sly and cunning that he subtly doubled down on a Townie mistake so people potentially make approach it the way I am now?

As for Today I don't think Frostburn is scum but I also think there is no other wagon a this point.

I didn't read the rules either, which is my meta behaviour. I didn't know Scum had a day chat. I wonder why Pooka gave them a day chat as it is an extra advantage to them. Maybe one of the new players is Scum, so Pooka thought they needed a little coaching.

So from my POV both of Frosty and Buck could either be lazy townees like myself or potential LAMIST Scums. Frosty being eratic and Buck having time constraints would likely point to the former for both though. Although Frosty seems to have too many LAMIST posts way beyond this.

Should I hammer then?

I think at the risk of getting distracted and potentially not getting a lunch. Absolutely
