GymHenson: ...<who>...

My weird theory is that maybe(of course being me and all, I there is a good chance i'm wrong yet again....also hope i'm saying this all correctly) he's a third party and needs to be lynched in order to win....etc etc.

...<reads>...
A key part of being town is NOT knowing.

We are the uninformed majority. Being wrong is a part of it.

dedoporno: ...<no one>...

avatar
ZFR: b) It's not really in the rules, though you're right it is mentioned in the example scum chat.
avatar
dedoporno: Semantics, I guess. My bad. I really meant the OP as a whole and since that mostly consists of various types of rules and as annoying as it may be to read something that is 99% copy-pasted content from the game before, one should read it in full each and every time since often mods make a small change here and there or there are small useful bits.
Semantics??

Your insistence seemed adamant there are three mafia in this particular game.

While I'll admit doing the town/mafia ratio has become an automatic task, your comments are odd to me.

I know....that bit(me saying there's a good chance i'm wrong) is mainly a reaction to how near every time I post one of my ideas someone chimes in to say how dumb/etc it is.

Don't like answering for others too much, but the OP said there are 3 scum this game.

I linked it in post 340 ITT, and will also link so here to save ya some time

It still is. The semantics part refers to whether the Opening Post of the game thread can be called "Rules" or not.

Huh? What automatic task? We've been told there are exactly three scum in both in the sign-up, which I agree shouldn't be held against people if they missed it in there, but also confirmed in this very game thread. What do you find odd about my comments exactly?
I'm back!

Post to avoid replaced by Pooka.

I supposed to vote whoever on L1 that night, but I forgot to do so. It's a huge mistake.

It's great you're here. It would be very useful if you went through everything you missed and like before share what you think about everything that's been going on (or hasn't been going on).

At work so please pardon my phone.

The automatic math task is a ratio of how many players so how many likely scum.

There is technically not a confirmation of three mafia. There is an example with fictitious names.

Not a damning offense but an example of the facts being flavored by supposition and assumption. I'm not concerned about how many mafia at this juncture. I just want a viable lynch.

Great. Do you have top 3+ choices of people you'd personally consider as good options for a lynch? Would they be backed up by something more than "we need a lynch this time"?

Yes.

Yes.
I would support these lynches at this point in time with the nothing I currently know.

GymHenson: his playstyle affords him too much latitude for interpretation.(I am waaaay too town to be saying these things which sound scummy.) He also can be perceived as attempting to co-opt or sway the facts by way of answering for another player.

JoeSapphire: he is skating. It's absolutely glorious...but still skating.

MangoSenpaI: Extreme AWOL which gives me the first-time-ever-being-scum-and-I-got-the-jitters vibe.

Microfish_1: he's having far too much fun at this point. Possible Jester??

I won't strongly support these lynches:

flubbucket: He's Ultra-Town

Leoric: seems genuine, but desperately needs more dialogue for extreme scrutinizationing

Dogmaus: seems genuine as well, confusion believable, desperately needs more dialogue for extreme-mega-judgementalizationing.
I could put Lifthrasil in the won't strongly support list.

What little he has posted has looked town.

Thanks and I'll post more.

flubbucket: No Lynch is so deflating.
I'm so agree with it. Are we basically on the same page as Day 1? Is it still meaningful to do "wagon analysis"? I'm a little bit frustrated and I don't have too much confidence I could find anymore useful posts in day 2. I feel like I could jump on any wagon and end this day without several more (real life) days to decide.

Lifthrasil: Therefore, writing is more difficult for scum and experience shows, that especially new players sometimes are very silent when playing scum, because they are afraid of posting something wrong.
I agree with that and I think that's why scums were silent in the previous game? On the other hand, in my imagination, an experienced scum player tend to talk a lot to distract or try to control how people would vote. Well, I haven't played a lot, I could be wrong.

I don't have a notepad beside my browser to keep track of what everyone said, I'll consider to do it too, it did took a lot of time to read through all the posts.
Just a short notice: as previously mentioned, I don't have much time over the weekend. But I'll re-join the game on Monday.
To ZFR and Bookworm: Please don't mad at GH, most people don't understand it and I made that mistake too.

Too GH: I'm sorry to tell you that "fish can't be scum twice in a row" is not seem to be correct. It sounds intuitive but statistics does not work that way. What happened already happened, and it won't by any means affect who microfish will be in another game.

What you might referring to is Conditional Probability, but that only apply to things like, "If fish is scum in next game, then he is not likely a scum in the game next to next game". To the game we involved in right now, we don't have to calculate the P of Combined Event with previous game. There's no chance that a P(fish is scum| fish is not scum) could happen because in previous game fish is scum.

A fun fact is that I'm a townie in every forum games Pooka held (maybe 5 or 6 games?), but I'm still a town this time.

I'm not a math student, that's as far as I can explain with my vague memory from college. Please correct me if I'm wrong.

flubbucket: Yes.

Yes.
I appreciate that you responded in the way you did to the questions asked to you but still decided I was looking for something more and provided it. You're awesome!

Leoric_AKA_Leo: On the other hand, in my imagination, an experienced scum player tend to talk a lot to distract or try to control how people would vote. Well, I haven't played a lot, I could be wrong.
In my opinion that would mostly depend on who that is. Most players will try to be consistent with their usual styles. If they tend to talk and analyze a lot when Town they need to try and do the same as scum otherwise people who know them will pick it up and point it out. The same can apply the other way around, too. That being said keep in mind that other factors may also affect how one plays - i.e. someone may have gotten a role they are not sure how to use or one that calls for a different type of play to make good use of.

Say hello to mom and tell her she's awesome! Hurray for moms!
