dedoporno: I sent a dick pic to Joe and I'm bummed out he didn't get it.
Well I couldn't waste my one message per night on silly things....I had to pick someone I felt might use my PR for worthwhile messages (sorry buddy). :)

BTW what do you think of buck's claim of having hid behind Blotunga?

I mean what are the odds he'd hide behind TWO useful town PRs in a row, and what are the odds that scum would risk targeting a town!bucktooth two "nights" in a row while knowing (at least from D2 and on) that he was town coward?

I mean(as I stated/asked above), would scum(if Bucktooth is town) really risk targeting him and risk that he might hide behind a scum player?

Lastly, what was the message, if we may ask?
(If you think it better to keep it quiet then by all means do so)

Pre post edit: Should I reveal the last sender name or no? Or should I let them do the honors if they so choose?

That's fair, don't worry.

GymHenson: BTW what do you think of buck's claim of having hid behind Blotunga?
I think he's wrong. The point you is very sensible and should be obvious.

avatar
GymHenson: Lastly, what was the message, if we may ask?
It's a math joke. I don't think it has anything to do with the game but it's a good one (I've heard it before in my own language but it's obviously meant to be told in English as it was funnier this time).

GymHenson: Pre post edit: Should I reveal the last sender name or no? Or should I let them do the honors if they so choose?
Not sure what this could tell us. Maybe the combination of sender/recipient could be interesting. Speaking of which - @Hunter, why did you send me this?

CATTE...

Want to explain why you're blowing things up in my vicinity while I sleep.
avatar
GymHenson: What do you mean by this?

(If you'd prefer to let Catte answer you first I can wait)
I fully intend to explain, but yes I would first like to see catte's response. I will probably give them a day to see if they say anything before I reveal.

GymHenson: Question to you and everyone else: Why would scum bother going after town coward 2 nights in a row, and not someone more worthwhile?

I mean they might assume you'd hide behind important players, but what if you hid behind a scum player?

Would they really take that chance?
Honestly, that is what I attempted last night, however my scum senses for blot were so fixed that I found it hard to believe that they were telling the truth when they said they were a town PR.

to your other point: I'm not sure why I am such a high priority target. I mean, I guess it is possible that they just happen to choose to NK the same people I hide behind, but what are the odds?

Just to get some discussion going: My choices for targets to hide behind were blot, joe and flub. I think I was on such a high when Trent flipped scum as he was one of my first real suspicions, that I figured my intuition for blot was correct as well.

But Joe...what where those couple posts after the hammer was brought down on trent. Supposedly not realizing it was set in stone by the time they suggested rethinking the wagon? and then randomly throwing out that they knew ZFR had a PR.

Just to get some discussion going as well

So this actually just came to me as well. I will give them the first night as a fluke, they just decided vitek or I were a good NK. However, maybe my claim was a bit premature. Obviously scum know that I'm town as I'm not one of them, there is really nothing stopping them from targeting me every night and just hoping I hide behind other townies. Then dumb old me comes in first post saying "hey everyone!, I hid behind the person that's now dead". To anyone who doesn't have proof of me being town(again: everyone except scum), it just sounds like I'm coming up with a roundabout way of saying "yeah, I basically performed the last two NKs".
avatar
bucktoothgamer: I fully intend to explain, but yes I would first like to see catte's response. I will probably give them a day to see if they say anything before I reveal.
Ok then...seems like a plan.

avatar
bucktoothgamer: Honestly, that is what I attempted last night, however my scum senses for blot were so fixed that I found it hard to believe that they were telling the truth when they said they were a town PR.
But you were willing to take that chance on N2 that Blotunga wasn't town, especially if scum are targeting you?

avatar
bucktoothgamer: to your other point: I'm not sure why I am such a high priority target. I mean, I guess it is possible that they just happen to choose to NK the same people I hide behind, but what are the odds?
That's just it....a town coward wouldn't be a safe bet for a NK after scum found out your role.....if you hid behind a scum player and they targeted you again(on N2) they'd likely have NKd one of their own.

As that would be too risky:....if you are town coward and did hide behind Blotunga I don't think you were the target.

(Also Blotunga more or less dangled the fact they had a good PR on D2 in posts to me and others...so to me that's even more proof Blotunga was indeed the NK target)

avatar
bucktoothgamer: Just to get some discussion going: My choices for targets to hide behind were blot, joe and flub. I think I was on such a high when Trent flipped scum as he was one of my first real suspicions, that I figured my intuition for blot was correct as well.
Again, read the last bit I replied to above: If you are town and town coward, there's not much chance scum would target you once they found that out, as they likely wouldn't want to risk hitting one of their own if you hid behind them.

avatar
bucktoothgamer: But Joe...what where those couple posts after the hammer was brought down on trent. Supposedly not realizing it was set in stone by the time they suggested rethinking the wagon? and then randomly throwing out that they knew ZFR had a PR.
ZFR more or less admitted such(afaik...correct me if i'm wrong, ZFR) when he said he'd been infected by the infector.

Also this is role madness...it's likely most of us have roles.

Also also tbh I don't think a scum would start a wagon on a fellow scum then admit that they're scum later on....to me that'd be too risky a move....thus imo Joe is more likely town than scum (atm anyways).

That said I had an idea for you and all: Since we can't verify buck's role claim & we can't prove him to be town, and since scum won't likely target him anymore if he is town.....why not have Buck be a lynch candidate?

Before anyone goes "whoa whoa"...he might be town...that's insane!" remember: We cannot verify his claim, if he is town his role is now effectively nerfed as scum would know to avoid trying to NK him....also he might be scum hiding behind the claim(like Trent).

Of course that's just me throwing out ideas....not suggesting we all go in and lynch him....just want to get some thoughts on the idea.

ZFR: I got healed by a Medic.

I think I should claim. Since trent had my claim he passed it on to his buddies. Unless they don't have Day Chat, but I doubt it.

Thoughts?
I'm inclined to agree. If scum have a telepath then he would have been able to tell them. Not sure if letters arrive during the night or at dawn when all the other night actions are resolved, but if it is earlier then he might have been able to tell them even without a telepath.

CATTE...

Want to explain why you're blowing things up in my vicinity while I sleep.

Also also for transparency: I hid behind blotunga last night, so apparently scum have had it out for me 2 nights in a row.
I was wondering if you were going to bring that up. You could have answered that question for yourself by reading the role list, no need to ask me.

But since you've gone straight for the blunt approach literally anyone should now be able to work my role out. However for those who can't be bothered to look at the role list, I'm a crazy inventor and I failed my "dexterity check" last night so my invention exploded. :P
I was investigating bucktoothgamer to see if they really were a coward, but each possible action has a success rate. If the action fails then my invention explodes and is "loud".

avatar
GymHenson: I mean what are the odds he'd hide behind TWO useful town PRs in a row, and what are the odds that scum would risk targeting a town!bucktooth two "nights" in a row while knowing (at least from D2 and on) that he was town coward?

I mean(as I stated/asked above), would scum(if Bucktooth is town) really risk targeting him and risk that he might hide behind a scum player?
This is a very good point. The first night is an easily explained coincidence: Either scum targeted Vitek or targeted bucktoothgamer not knowing he was a coward. But the second night we have to believe that bucktoothgamer either managed to pick the same target as the scum or that the scum knowingly targeted a coward, running the risk that BTG would hide behind one of them.

I don't think bucktoothgamer's lack of discretion about my action last night is anti-town necessarily, but I had my doubts about them already (hence the investigation) and the fact that they've hidden behind yet another NK victim is a pretty big coincidence.
What if btg did the kills and is using coward as a cover in case they were tracked or the victim was watched?

avatar
bucktoothgamer: I fully intend to explain, but yes I would first like to see catte's response. I will probably give them a day to see if they say anything before I reveal.
Is there any more to reveal? From my understanding of my role you've pretty much spilled all the beans already.

bucktoothgamer: Obviously scum know that I'm town as I'm not one of them, there is really nothing stopping them from targeting me every night and just hoping I hide behind other townies.
Huh? That would be a very silly strategy... Why would they target you every night hoping that you don't hide behind one of them when they could just go ahead and target anyone but you (and themselves) and get a much more predictable result. No, I don't think they did target you last night.

avatar
bucktoothgamer: To anyone who doesn't have proof of me being town(again: everyone except scum), it just sounds like I'm coming up with a roundabout way of saying "yeah, I basically performed the last two NKs".
Yes indeed it does. It'd be a very convenient claim to explain why you might be tracked to or watched at the scene of a NK.

From other people's posts and what I know about when the results of my messaging get to me, I would guess the letters arrive to their recipients AFTER other night actions.

Hmm, would town!Buck reveal such info that could paint a target on another town's back? Probably not, I am guessing.

(Of course he might've not realized that was what he did by posting such...I mean would scum announce they knew a PR a town player had like that?)

I meant I hope that the line I quoted of Buck's(the bit he added that says "yeah, I basically performed the last two NKs") isn't buck admitting to the game that he's scum, albeit in a subtle way.

(Like in the one prior game where a player claimed to be slytherin at game start, and later on we found out he was telling the truth and was slytherin/scum)

That said, I am starting to wonder if Buck is a scum hiding behind the "newbie blind spot".
(i.e. people seemingly trusting the newbies to be town more than others in general)

I will admit that I didn't read the role list in full, but I just went back and re-read it...and crazy inventor is not guaranteed to be a town role. I'm not familiar enough with neutral roles in mafia to know what their win conditions are, but crazy inventor is not under the town role list.

Also, when someone's blowing things up next to me being subtle about it usually isn't my first train of thought.

avatar
bucktoothgamer: Obviously scum know that I'm town as I'm not one of them, there is really nothing stopping them from targeting me every night and just hoping I hide behind other townies.

No, I don't think they did target you last night.
Would it though? Im the one that has been providing who i am targeting with my night action every night, in the hopes that IF the NK is different than who I hide behind everyone will hopefully believe me. Also, is it really hard to believe that the mafia team could get a sense of who I suspect, and find me to be a safe target knowing it will just hit another townie anyway?

Once again, my suspicion of blot was pretty obvious the past 2 days. So the assumption that I would hide behind them to draw out a kill is not that much of a stretch. If I were scum, why would I gun down someone that everyone could easily trace back to and be like "wow, buck REALLY didn't like them".
avatar

But why would a anti-town neutral admit to such a role? It'd be akin to saying "lynch me!" imo.

Also this bit of the role description: "Failures at killing attempts will always kill you. Failed investigations and protections will have some non-lethal effect and fail flavour, but in any case each failed attempt to do anything will be noticed by the target."

It seems protections and investigations that fail get noticed by the target(in this case that would be you). So it's likely it was one of those.....and think: would an anti-town neutral!Catte use an investigation or protection on town players?

Imo it's more likely Catte is truthful, and is either a neutral that's helpful to or at least not harmful to town.

avatar
bucktoothgamer: Also, is it really hard to believe that the mafia team could get a sense of who I suspect, and find me to be a safe target knowing it will just hit another townie anyway?
There's always the chance you might hide behind one of them(if you're town), and they wouldn't likely risk that imo.
avatar
bucktoothgamer: Also, is it really hard to believe that the mafia team could get a sense of who I suspect, and find me to be a safe target knowing it will just hit another townie anyway?
But what would be the advantage? Why gamble on who you might target when they can just target that person and be certain?

Also EBWOP: As per the signup role info for Catte's claimed role.....it says failed kill attempts would also kill Catte. As Catte seems to be (more or less) alive and well, I would assume he didn't fail a kill attempt or use a kill attempt....and thus is very likely a town friendly or non harmful(to town) neutral.
