This is a game of Forum Mafia. Please don't post here unless you've been directed here from the sign up thread or PM, or were otherwise told by the mod that you should post here. Exception: anyone, including dead players and non-players, may make a bump post if a player asks for it here or in the admin thread. You may also use an alt-user to make a bump post. The bump post should contain no game-relevant information.

Direct any queries you may have to the the the General Discussion and Administration Pages or to me via PM.

Rules:

0. Lifthrasil is the moderator for this game. If you have any issues, contact him via PM.

1. Cryptoclaiming is forbidden.
(In short, cryptoclaiming is having everyone fullclaim in some sort of, preferably nearly unbreakable, code, which makes it all but impossible for the Mafia team to win.)

2. Betting among players is strictly forbidden.

3. Real Life issues and situations should and will always take priority over what happens in the game. If a player presents a real life issue as a reason on why they need a bit more time or are temporarily unavailable to partake normally in the game that reason should be accepted and respected by everyone else (including the mod). Everyone should always treat real life problems/situations in a gentlemanly manner and never try to make accusations or gain leverage in the game based on that. If these issues become too overwhelming the incapacitated player should inform their mod and ask for a replacement as soon as possible or if they are unable to do so the mod should take steps in finding a replacement for them. Everyone should be playing the game for fun and treat each other with the necessary respect. Therefore we shall always assume that every real life reason for inefficient participation in the game is 100% real and has to be taken as such. We shall also count on everyone playing the game to show proper respect and sportsmanship to their fellow players and the mod by never abusing this "free pass". If someone is caught taking advantage of everyone's good will they will be immediately allowed to find another place to play forum mafia.

4. This is a game of lying. Players are expected to lie. No statement or promise a player makes within the game has any force outside the game. As an example, a bet offered in a game is not something you can collect if you win (see also Rule 2). An exception to this is Real Life issues, as per Rule 3.
With that in mind, you might want to avoid sensitive topics, ones which would benefit from having all the participants telling the truth, till after the game is finished.

5. Have fun and enjoy the game. While shouting at each other is expected in a game of Mafia, please remain civil to your fellow players.

6. Please bold any questions you have for me, so it's easier for me to see them. You may use bold for other reasons (like stressing a point) but please avoid doing so excessively.

7. It goes without saying that discussing this game outside this thread is prohibited.

8. Do not edit your posts for any reason. Remember there is a forum feature that automatically merges posts made within 10 minutes. There is also a forum bug which prevents your post from appearing sometimes when it should appear on a new page. Making a second post in this case after less than 10 minutes can cause your post to be merged and appear edited.

9. If you die, stop posting in this thread. A single "bah" post is allowed and encouraged. Your "bah" post should not contain any game-relevant information.

10. You are expected to make a post at least once every 48 hours. If you need to be away for longer, please let me know in advance. Posting more frequently makes for a more interesting game. So try to participate as much as you can.

11. Please do not directly quote your role PM or any other communication with me. You may post your Name and Role, but anything else has to be paraphrased. Note that simply changing "you" to "I" is not considered paraphrasing. When in doubt, ask me first.

12. You may discuss the (paraphrased) flavour of your role PMs, or any technical details that are related to gameplay, but you may not discuss technical minutae that are not gameplay related. For example asking someone if their PM mentions them allowing to target themselves is OK since it's gameplay related. However asking for the exact spelling of their role, or the timestamp at which PM was received is not.

13. If you do something intentionally in a way that goes against the spirit of the game, you will be penalized. When in doubt, ask me first.

14. Breaking rules, depending on the severity of the infraction, can get you modkilled at my discretion. Getting modkilled can be hazardous to your health and usually means you lose regardless of whether your team wins or loses. It's also bad in general. Please don't get modkilled.

15. Once a majority votes for a player, that player gets lynched. No amount of unvoting is going to help them.

16. If no majority vote is achieved before Day ends, then no lynch takes place.

22. You have to read the rules before playing.

This game is Fallout themed. I draw inspiration from the Games Fallout, Fallout 2, Fallout 3 and Fallout New Vegas. But the flavour will not contain any spoilers. I.e. there is no connections between your character name, your role and your alignment. Just because an NPC in one of the games is evil, doesn't make them Scum in this game. This means that acting out your Flavour or even revealing your Name won't compromise the game balance. Therefore role-playing is allowed and encouraged.

There is no cult element and there are no Jesters in the game.

This is a semi-open role madness game. It may contain some non-standard roles in addition to normal roles. Some normal roles may also be modified. A discussion of possible non-standard roles can be found in the signup thread.

There may be a message transfer service in the game. If you want to send someone a message at Night, please tell the Mod so before (or at) Nightfall and send the message to me, telling me who it is intended for. If you are eligible for the message transfer service, your message will be sent to the recipient. Unless it contains content that I deem dangerous for the game balance (i.e. a code for Cryptoclaiming or PM quoting or some such)

To vote someone, you have to bold your vote. Preferably on a separate line. Like this:

vote Joppo

writing something without bolding won't count. Unvote Joppo would have no effect. You don't have to unvote before voting again. The most recent valid vote counts. You may kick, tickle, scold or do lots of interesting things to each other - but those won't count as votes. Only the word vote is a vote.

You may also vote no-lynch. A majority for no-lynch will end the Day without a lynch.

Howdy X. You are Y, an honest Settler (Town), who follows the dream of establishing a society without bias and discrimination in that abandoned vault that one of your scouts found. Unfortunately it seems that your trek was infiltrated by some new kind of mutants, who want to kill all of you. They have started by killing the very scout who knew the code to opening the vault! You have no choice but to fight back. These mutants seem to have some shape-shifting power so that they are indistinguishable from you, as long as they are alive. So you’ll have to kill, one last time, before you can Create your Garden of Eden. Each Day you have to select one among you who has to die. Either you will manage to eliminate all Mutants one by one in this way - or they will eliminate you.

Win condition: You win, when all dangers to Town are eliminated.

It is a dusty day in the wasteland. The sun is shining mercilessly, the tumble-weeds are rolling by and the Geiger-counters are ticking peacefully at a not alarming rate.
You are part of a motley crowd of settlers, that have banded together to make the wasteland a more bearable place. Originally you settled in Dusty Springs, a wretched place. But it had water and it had you, a society without prejudice. Humans, Ghuls, Mutants and other sentient beings living peacefully together. However, the springs started drying up. Just then a Scout brought back news of an abandoned Vault. He even had found the passcode to it and had been inside. It was devoid of the usual threats that often inhabit those old bunkers. It even had a working water life support system, water chip and all!


Happily you packed your belongings and set off, to find that new home. But on the way, a mere Day before reaching the vault, Joppo, your Scout, was murdered and on his body a threat was found. A warning from some sect of mutants that they would kill all you inferior life forms and take that working Vault for themselves. For a new era without pesky humans and their allies. You were warned to run away and leave the bunker to them. But you won’t do that! Instead you will find them and kill them, ere they kill you. And then you will have peace!


Now you have reached the Vault entrance and you are camping in the cave in front of it. All Geckos have been eliminated, but the door remains closed. Well, you will find a way to open it, once the threat to your community has been eliminated. You still have plenty of water and food. So no reason to panic. It’s time to get to work and make your future a safe one!

PLEASE, please read the rules before posting! All of the rules and read them thoroughly! It is vital for the game.

I will not punish this accidental edit. But consider yourself warned! The next merge or edit or rule violation will have consequences!

I go over to my pack and pull out some small discs/chips labelled "Mister Roger's Neighborhood", and load them into my custom built pip boy, and proceed to watch them as I relax for a bit.

Yes, many of the things he talks about are hard to fathom as they were before my time, but his voice(especially his songs) are oddly soothing, and the various people who he talks to are nice to listen to or watch sometimes as well.

I look around at those around me from time to time, trying to puzzle out who is friend and who is foe, but my mind drifts back to the show eventually each time.

So, whom to vote for....whom to vote for....maybe ill rest a bit first.
