OK. This requires explanation. Why wouldn't the real Vig shoot Pookina, if her claim were false?

But it would net us a proven Scum. If someone is proven Bulletproof, that someone must be Scum!

Also @Joe: will play go to the action phase even if the elimination fails? The PR says: "... That player will be immediately eliminated and play will proceed to the action phase." This can be read as conditional on the elimination. What if that is prevented?

@Carradice: also, saving the Shot of the Dayvig for another Day isn't possible if Pookina really is the Dayvig. If she saves her shot, she will be killed Tonight. We can't prevent the kill, because Scum have a Strongarm. So you urging the claimed Dayvig to hold back looks quite bad. Especially coupled with your implication that uncovering the bulletproof scum would be bad for us. I don't like your reasoning at all!

To be clear: I'm not saying 'use the shot immediately'. But Pookina has to use it Today or we will most likely lose it.

This, however, is cause for concern. So shooting Laser might be bad. Let's wait for Joe's reply what happens when the Vig-Shot is foiled.

Yes. Of course. If Pookina's claim is false, she is scum. A Vig usually has the concern that he might accidentally shoot Town. But having a proven scum target, there is no reason to hold back that shot. Especially since counter-claiming just would get the Vig killed in the Night. What's your reasoning?

And this fits SPF's concern. So Laser most likely is the Bulletproof Scum. Self-voting is almost never a pro-Town move.

Oh yeah, if Pooka's telling the truth then he's probably going to die tonight regardless. As I said, I'm not talking about saving the bullet for later because there is likely no "later" for Pooka. This is entirely about the fact that a lynch is more effective than a shot.

Look at it this way:
We have two ways of ending the day. One is effective against any player, one is effective against all players apart from one member of the mafia. It makes sense to use the one that doesn't have a chance of failure.
It feels unlikely, but if LASER is town then it doesn't really matter which one we used the outcome of a dead townie is the same. If he's scum then one of the options has a possible failure rate while the other one doesn't.

To answer your question: Yes, I would say let's lynch them instead of shooting them.

The value of Pooka's power is not in its strength, it's effectively (as Pooka put it) a supervote. The power is that Pooka gets to unilaterally decide the lynch of the day (but it's slightly weaker than a real lynch). So if we're talking about killing someone by consensus we may as well use an actual lynch because it's stronger.

Yes, if LASER has decided that he's doomed anyway and is bulletproof then he's going to try and draw the shot to get us to waste a day. It kind of feels like that's what's happening, but I'd be interested to hear other reads on the situation.

If Pookina's claim is false she is Mafia or a crazy Town willing to attract an assassin. In both ways it would be MUCH more reasonable to ask for a demonstration and then lynch the fake without revealing a role and HELPING THE MAFIA!!!. Lastly, the real shooter have all the rights to shot the impostor but it would not be a good way to make a shot until very last moment.
