I think if Pookina's claim were false, the real Vig would have shot her by now. Because a false-claim like that would be a dead sure scum-tell. Unless, of course, Lonzi is the real vig. He's the only one who didn't check in since Pookina claimed.

@Lonzi: if you are the Vig, please shoot Pookina now. If you don't, Pookina is basically certified Town-Day-Vig.

I do not want to finish this soon, either. Rushing might have done two things: 1) Preventing us from hearing everyone’s take on the issue. 2) Making a bad tactical choice.

About 1), Cristine just appeared and she gave zero analysis. Lonzi is absent as well. However, she did mention a good RL reason for her absence last week.

About 2) SPF is right, and the Lift just arrived and did not think it through. Using the shot is actually weaker than the lunch as it risks a no-lunch.

Is there a way for defusing the situation? Might Pookie put her revolver away and save it for another ocassion? She says she is damned, but it does not need to be the case. What do you think?

If she is the real Vigilante, IMHO she made a gross mistake. But, if we are to get the most of a bad situation, the best available rational course would be saving that shot for another time. Mind, I wholeheartedly agree with Lift’s policy of not discussin powers openly, but this clusterfuck of a situation, combined with a generalized lack of understanding of the tweaked powers in this game, leads to this.

Shirley has mentioned that using a shot has the risk of meeting the Bulletproof scum. A good old filling lunch does not offer that risk.

@POOKIE, you CAN save your shot for another game-day.

However, if you feel that you ABSOLUTELY must use it in the present game-day, I would suggest this:

1) Get a list of the most suspicious people. This means bandwagons by Joe Broadway. Also, a chart of suspicion like the ones you already know, if you wish.

2) With that knowledge, shooting someone who will be taken to lunch anyway does not make much sense. HOWEVER, what if you shoot someone whom you think very scummy and who does not seem to be rank up in the suspicion list?

What do you think about that? MIght such a player exist?

If Pookina is a real thing and she shots a Bulletproof scum > Town would lynch Mafia the next Day > Mafia probably will not be interested (they might of course) in wasting a kill on empty vig in search for 2 powerful roles, especially the cop > Town would have one 100% proof Town

You fail to realize the implications. Also it was Shirley who mentioned that, not Lift. Lift says go ahead and shoot.

If Pookie shoots the Bulletproof, it leads to essentially a no-lunch. While a NK is almost certain to be happening. That is bad tactics. If the target was the Bulletproof, why not invitting said person to a lunch instead? Success and no-lunch avoided.

If Pookie shoots someone who was going to be taken to lunch anyway, she does not make a difference, and actually she is making a tactical mistake.

However, if shoots someone who she thinks to be scummy that is NOT ranking up in the suspicion list, and is not going to be taken to lunch any soon, that is the only meaningful way of making a difference for her.

Getting the best of a bad situation, which we know that in reality happens often. Alsoin some good games, and when people accepts mistakes or bad luck instead of savescumming.

If there's one other player I want to shoot, it is scene. Like others have said, scene is the kind of person who'd keep up the charade even when he's freefalling without a parachute, and getting him and laser together was desirable...until I've come to terms with my own limitations. That said, I'm going to sit down with myself and think of my possible better choices.

Also, if I do save the shot for another game, I'll be strongmanned out of the planet. The only way I think I'll be spared is if I am deadset on shooting someone who isn't scum, and this is a big gambit for scum. Similar to my not pressing for a Motion Detector SPF nightkill at Stanley's. It's a high risk high reward scenario that I bet most scum would shy away from.
