Lifthrasil: But you'll still play, right?

GameRager: And you win the 10 dollar(or around that, some spare change more or less) GOG game credit from the surprise first ever GOG Mafia contest draw!

*Fanfare starts to resound throughout the thread*

You can either claim it, request a game(or games) worth that amount for another GOG user(that isn't playing the game), or pass it on to someone else in the game(that includes lonzi, as she was in the game as well).

When you have your choice in mind, lemme know(via this thread or PM). :)
And thank you again for this nice way to end the game. I'll take The Incredible Adventures of Van Helsing. With the current discount it should fall into the 10 $ bracket.

SirPrimalform: It was quite nice when people mostly started coming round to my side in the DocWars.
The DocWars. That has a nice sound to it.

JoeSapphire: ...
Lift has offered you the prize...if you accept then lemme know, otherwise it shifts back to Lift. :)

LASER97: What? Their strategy was awful.
avatar
joppo: No, it was not. They were pretty good the first two days, but didn't hit the cop for a very narrow margin of decision. Then Lonzi had to step out at a critical moment for us. Had she been around I think she would end up convincing GR to go for Cristi, or possibly sway Carradice to overrule GR's choice of Cadaver. With only one confirmed townie alive AND nobody to vouch for a player everyone was seeing as the scummiest of all, namely Laser97, getting a mislynch would be a piece of cake.
What I was wondering: why did you decide to counterclaim Doc and not Cop? An uncontested Cop always brings with it all their reads and quasi-cleared players. Leaving not much breathing space for Scum. In the end, no one cared that much for the Doc conflict. A Cop conflict would have been much more efficient, especially if you had come out early in the Day claiming that you had read Laser as Scum. Who was still seen as scummy from the previous Day at daystart.

Carradice: Nearer my GOG to thee. Appreciated. Can you believe I managed to NOT watching this movie, like, never?
I only saw bits of it.....and the memes and such.

(Sidenote/trivia: It was one of my mum's favorite films, before she passed....I also posted it in memory of her)

avatar
Carradice: Thank you! That is generous from you. Especially since we lost. Let us say that we had our moments, on D-1 and D-2, and Town had theirs as well! ;)
Yeah, like me stupidly going against Lonzi's pick. *o.0

Oh well, live and learn I guess.

Carradice: Everyone is invited to a free round at the bar of the restaurant. I think I heard Joe say that it is on the house :)
Anyone got a ladder?

What...what I say?

Very nice of you. +1

JoeSapphire: Congrats Lift!

And thanks for doing this GameRager! It's a really nice way to end the game.
Yup...I figured i'd maybe start a new thing with regards to these games.

Might even do it in the future(money and time permitting), but in random games...gotta keep the element of surprise. :D

Looks like a fun game. Enjoy, Lift!

GameRager - what a nice thing to do!

Thanks.....I ran it by Joe and he was all for it, so I went with it....also it was SO hard keeping it under wraps until game end.
Joe, thanks for hosting. Loved the flavour.

Congrats, Town.

@GameRager, that's a very nice gesture.

LASER97: As I told Joe over private message, I had been playing intentionally anti-town the first two days. Not to gauge reactions like I previously told SPF, but so that now all of my future actions are excused. It's what I refer to as "meta-busting."
avatar
Lifthrasil: I refer to that as anti-team play. It's not a nice way to play. It spoils the fun of something that is supposed to be a team effort for purely selfish reasons. (so that you get a free pass in later games)
Not only that, but this kind of play has a very negative Expected Value. You'll be drawn into Town more often than Mafia, so any advantage you gain by being more difficult to read gets offset by the damage you do to your faction Town with your anti-Town play, so you lose more in the long run.

It's like going all in every hand in poker. It makes you difficult to read, and those times that you actually get AA or any good hand, you'll win easily since no one will expect it. But since statistically you'll get a bad hand much more ofte, you'll just lose money in the long run (and yes, that will make the game less fun for others too).

cristigale: GameRager - what a nice thing to do!
As I told everyone else, I felt it would be a nice end game thing to do...plus I had some spare money budgeted for gift codes so I figured why not?

I didn't have enough time to ponder the implications that the cop reads would narrow the scum pool to my peers or I would certainly have done that. I just had time to decide that I would need to claim either role. By then I was certain the doc was SPF and cop was Cristigale. Since we only needed a mislynch I thought that the chance was higher that people would believe a scum!SPF than a scum!Cristi

SPF was right that I waited for his claim to bring the conflict right away. I hoped people would rush to vote either of us. Sadly they stopped to think who the remaining scum would be instead, and all went down the drain for us.
Shout out to Lonzi - well played while you were here!
Well, bad luck then, joppo.

I'm off to bed. Good night!
