Or better yet, here's another contribution to add to the mess of the alignment changing.

What if the scumteam has been completely changed? Or at least partway. In Joe's post, he says that the game should be treated as if it begun anew. What if he really did begin it anew by reshuffling the alignments and turning some if not all scum to town and some town to scum?

This way, some scum are turned into town, but their knowledge of their former scumbuddies would not help because they're no longer scum.

Would Joe make that much work for himself? Probably not, although it is a slight possibility.

CAN WE PLEASE STOP TALKING ABOUT THE SETUP!

If the talk continues about setup inevitably we will start taking about roles, and the last thing we need is for that discussion to start on Day 1 as a cum don’t need any possible hints or clues on the subject.

The setup slightly changed, ok no big deal. We move on and try to find out who the scum is and lynch them.

I think if you do a complete reset, you say you do a full reset. Otherwise it's bastardish.

I'll concede (1) is possible. But (2) definitely did not.
I agree. 4 scum in a 14 player game would have been too much, and 2 scum in a 12 player game would be too little. Having said that, Joe's games are known for being exciting rather than balanced, so we can't assume too much. :P

Interesting discussion of alignment change, but I can clear up some of it. I think JoeSapphire reshuffled everyone, but I assume he only sent PMs to those whose alignments change. Personally, I don't consider this particularly bastard, but feel free to disagree.

I rolled scum to start the game, but got switched when dedoporno and Microfish_1 left the game. Dedo was Scum with me, as was trentonlf. I don't know why he decided to reroll when he could have just done what ZFR suggested (turn a town into a scum).

Funny story. I misread my original PM, didn't realize that I was scum, and outed myself in my first post.

"Me Baka, Watcher of Kalunga."

Watcher of Kalunga is the second REDACTED bit in the OP, and he redacted it because of me.

Interesting. Personally, if I was modding a game and a player decided to out themselves I'd let it stand.

Also wouldn't it be funny if you're actually still a Watcher of Kalunga?
