supplementscene: A slow day today
avatar
Bookwyrm627: Thank you for the response. You did miss a question, though.

avatar
supplementscene: 1. Because Spot 4 on Wagon in the first 24 hours looks scummy and oportunistic

2. He's certain I'm fascist right, are we just letting fascists misslynch here?
avatar
Bookwyrm627: 1. I'm...not certain I'm reading this correctly. Are you saying that Agent's vote could be town because it wasn't in spot 4?

2. That didn't answer my question.
I don't think I did miss a Q, maybe I wasn't clear enough though. I was stating that my theory and seemingly Agent's theory is that Scum are likely to pounce on a town wagon between spots 3-5. Trent was spot 4 and IIRC after Pooka stated he saw me as Scum. Therefore Trent's position could be opportunistic Scum.

Ofcourse if Agent is in fact Mafia and Scene-Trent is Town vs Town - he can then say 'hey I told you Trent was the instigator in lynching Scene'. So he gets 2 for the price of 1.

This is the inherent problem with this game.
avatar
PookaMustard: Sure. If we assume that one or two scum have been present in the early votes, then by bringing the votes on scene to five, all it would take is either the remaining scum to seal the vote, or a reckless Townie and a combo of another Townie or scum to take it there. Basically, I am seeing them banking on the speed of the wagon and hoping that future players just vote the leading wagon as quickly as possible. This is why I was worried about of the wagon and asked blotunga about his vote.

A reckless townie would be someone like dedoporno in #57, who dropped the hammer on...it was Lift, I think. The kind of scum I am thinking of when it comes to votes is someone like HSL, who usually joined at the tail end of the votes (also same game).
avatar
flubbucket: I'm impressed with your shrewdness.

Of course it hinges on "assumption" now doesn't it??
Of course it hinges on assumption, and from the moment it was brought up. The C9++ setup may have two, three or four scum, depending on the mood of the random.org gods. Fifty-fifty chance there's a serial killer among these scum, but if what I remember about them is correct, they don't know who's who, and thus can't tell for sure if scum are on the wagon or not. Still, depending on the play, scene was dangerously close to a lynch.

ZFR, vote count please!
Vote Count

(When you see a vote count please quickly make sure your vote is against the correct player. Let me know if it's not)

scene 3 - Bookwyrm, gogtrial, trent
blotunga 2 - JoeSapphire, flub
trent 2 - agentcarr, scene
JoeSapphire 1 - SirPrimalform
flub 1 - blotunga

Everyone else - 0
Not voting: Micro, dedoporno, GameRager, Pooka

13 players left. It takes 7 to lynch.
scene is closest at L-4

Bookwyrm627: Could you elaborate some on this?

Hm. How would a scum kickstart a wagon?
avatar
PookaMustard: ZFR, vote count please!
I'm pretty sure the 3 largest wagons are:

Scene x3 Bookwyrn, Gogtrial, Trent
Trent x2 - Agent, Scene
Blotunga x2 - Joe, Flub

Note I could easily have taken Blotunga to 3x and while I'm not completely opposed to this I'm trying to stick to my strongest feels and I'd prefer to go with Gogtrial

Being one of the early three voters, especially second or third, as one-vote wagons don't really take off as much as bigger ones.

4 players not voting with 36 hours is a poor show and either an oversight or Mafia hiding in the wings. I don't find Pooka to be mafia though and I tend to think Dedo isn't too. Maybe you're all town, who knows.
avatar
supplementscene: I don't think I did miss a Q
I'll section the three questions off for clarity.

---

avatar
supplementscene: If this is true, I'm willing to vote for myself so long as 6 players are willing to lynch you on Day 2 if I show up Town. It will either show one of the following:

1. You're Mafia
2. You're unable to seperate personal feelings from Mafia games
Does this apply to me as well?

---

avatar
supplementscene: But the fact [Trent]'s ... isn't keen on being revenge lynched if I show up Town.
I've reduced the quote some for clarity. Is Trent's attitude here something only scum would have?

---

avatar
supplementscene: I mean Agent could be scum and looking to get off the Town wagon as it gains traction knowing it likely sinks and he looks Town for not being on it. But his vote makes sense from a Town perspective too.
I've copied more of the quote to better illustrate my question. How does Agent's vote make sense from a Town perspective?

I don't know, you said you'd prefer to go with Gogtrial instead of blotunga. Why not vote gogtrial?

1. Not so much, you maybe Scum, but if you're in position 1 you don't look as bad really, I mean you couldn't know it'd take off and at the time you voted the weight of feeling behind it wasn't apparent. That doesn't mean you aren't Scum, there just isn't a reason to suspect you on this basis. If you regularly show up on Town wagons then you become suspect ofcourse

2. I know I'm not vehemently sure of any players alignment but Trent is. Yet despite being so self assured he isn't confident enough to take the bait that he'll get lynched Day 2 if I show up town. It seems intellectually dishonest, whcih isn't good town play. I'm fully aware he may have a personal dislike of me which makes him so sure I'm Scum despite him denying this

3. I've explained Agent's vote in full, I gave both the Town reason why he'd vote Trent and the Mafia reason. I'm beggining to suspect you due to the fact you're still actually asking it with only 'the mafia reason'. You've already had my full breakdown and you're spinning the narrative here

TBH you've made yourself look more suspect here as far as I'm concerned. I initially typed 'vote bookwyrm' but I don't think it has the wings to fly yet.
avatar
supplementscene: ....
You’re honestly trying to say I’m intellectually dishonest because I will not agree to be the lynch tomorrow if you’re the lynch today and flip town? LOL

The only person who seems to be focusing on being petty and biased is you. Play the game and stop trying to start a fight with me because the last thing we need is another argument between us like before.

As I’ve already stated multiple times, I’ve found your play to be scummy so I’ve voted you. It’s as simple as that. Could babe wrong, absolutely. Do I think I am, not at all.

I wondered if you were talking about Agent's vote on Trent.

The bit I quoted earlier, when I was asking the question, looked to me like you were commenting on Agent's vote on you, and I was wondering what your perception was for town!Agent voting you.

According to this description, though, you were talking about Agent's vote on Trent. That means Scum!Agent might have been looking to sink a wagon on town!Trent? In the meantime, town!Agent found a tell on scum!Trent, based strongly on where Trent's vote fell on the wagon.

avatar
supplementscene: TBH you've made yourself look more suspect here as far as I'm concerned. I initially typed 'vote bookwyrm' but I don't think it has the wings to fly yet.
*shrug* I have the impression that I look deceptively lynch-able. Almost but not quite there, a lot of the time.
avatar
gogtrial34987: I wasn't questioning your mod vote. I was questioning why scene found trent's mod vote noteworthy, but didn't comment at all about yours until the second time I asked him about it, at which point he basically dismissed your mod vote as unimportant.

If scene is scum, then this difference in attitude toward near-identical actions might point a little bit more in your direction than in trent's.
avatar
supplementscene: OK now I'm actually sure you're Scum. Instead of picking up on my point that I personally know from out of game Microfish has time to play and isn't posting as much
You mean the point for which Microfish gave a perfectly satisfactory explanation for in the very post that I was replying to?

avatar
supplementscene: you linger on about a mod-vote
I wouldn't describe me as "lingering on" here. Microfish was responding to something I questioned you about, which involved him, so I thought it worthwhile to clarify that I wasn't questioning him about it, and to explain the reason why I questioned you about it.

avatar
supplementscene: implying I'm defending him when in fact I've been quite critical.
At the point I first questioned you, way back in #123, you had as a matter of fact not been quite critical of him. You had ignored him completely, despite casting the same mod vote that you called out trent for. Then you ignored my question about this. You first mentioned microfish in #145 (not critical, only asking him to contribute), and only "became critical of him" - after I asked a second time - in your response to me in #190.
There probably is a technical mafia-term for becoming critical about a person only after you've been asked why you aren't critical of that person.

avatar
supplementscene: OK now I'm actually sure you're Scum.
Walk me through your reasoning on this?
If microfish is scum, then me not going "a ha! you use discord on mobile but not the forum, which must mean that you're scum!" means that I'm scum myself who's defending him. That 'makes sense'.
And if microfish is town, then... me not taking up your reasoning and trying to cast shade on him based on it, means...

...

All of this is worse than a discussion about the merits of no-lynch, isn't it?

Meh.

Time to take out your vote and wield it. You have lots of time to rethink your options and change it later, but if you have a preferred wagon (particularly if it doesn't have any traction yet), now is the time to get it rolling! Let's see some slow and steady wagon building so we have lots of analyze on D2, instead of our usual last minute scramble resulting in a no-lynch with scum happily hiding in the confusion with easy excuses.
