It wasn't until I did a thorough reread of you and bler144 last Night.

What I saw, with fresh eyes, was scummier bler144 rather than scummy muddysneakers.

I truly didn't know anything, just a hunch.

It was actually agentcarr wearing a Bernard Black mask that you were thinking of in that post, so you got 3/3.

What were your pointers in your reads?

The two phases and voting mechanics added a lot to the interesting setup. Not a fan of the double-lynch as it invited all sorts of manipulation, I think a random resolution of a tie would have worked better.

I can't remember who or when, but someone suggested a double lynch mechanic that had you vote for a separate double lynch wagon, i.e. vote SPF+HSL. This wouldn't count as a vote on either individual wagon, thus it would prevent last second manipulation. Just as no lynch can have strategic uses, there are situations where a double lynch could be helpful.
But yes, as a way of resolving two separate wagons I agree that a double lynch is dangerous and easy to manipulate.

First off, gg Town! We almost got ya. XD

If I left my vote on flubbucket, I would have forced bler144 to either hammer me or help kill flubbucket. If he was going to hammer me, I might as well do it myself. If he helps kill flubbucket, that hurts him Day 5. So I thought that self-hammering gave him the best chances going into Day 5. I expected him to NK flubbucket, though, and hope that there was enough WIFOM he wouldn't die. We didn't have very good chances either way, though.

Funny thing that. I didn't know bler144 was scum until a couple of days into Day 1. Lifthrasil had forgotten to tell us who our partners were.

I'm not sure I agree with that. If he hammered you, it would have been functionally equivalent but it might have allowed him to look (a tiny bit) more town. I did enjoy the WTF factor of your self hammer though!

Yeah, thinking about it afterwards, we were really playing toward a draw at that point, which is a bad position. So I was also hoping I might cause a bit of confusion.

Now I think about it, lynching flub would have brought you to an interesting game state. He almost certainly would have taken you or bler with him, which would have resulted in a draw if you then did a night kill.
