HypersomniacLive: And I'm not done yet! And I sure hope to get better responses than the non-existent ones to my questions in post #728.
I actually think he's telling the truth. I don't really find his D1 out of character, especially when considering he subbed in, I don't find it hard to relate to his circumstances regarding EoD1 (I'm actually quite impressed by how many people regularly access and partake in forum mafia from their work place), and his full attack on me D2 is very much town!mchack based on my experience from past games. He doesn't always make the most logical arguments, and often can't see what's being pointed out to him, actually no, he refuses to accept it and comes up with some other counterargument to hold on to his theory (if he believes he found scum, it's almost impossible to make him let go).
I already said that if he's upped his scum game that much since game #54, I'll tip my hat to him, but from what I've seen so far I don't think he has.
I don't get the "lack of counter-claim" arguments, as multiple Doctors are possible in this game, and I don't see how another Doctor could know that mchack's not another, not to mention that any semi-competent player would know better than out themselves when doing so isn't necessarily proof of mchack lying.
And I'm inclined to think that were he false-claiming, with how things went till now, and the time he had, he'd be better off picking a different role than Doctor; he'd be risking too much scepticism and doubt leading to his lynch with a Doctor false-claim, imo.
Bookwyrm627's vehement push to get him lynched doesn't ring as town!Bookwyrm627 genuinely scum-reading mchack. And his lack of interest in anyone other than those that are on the chopping block feels off for town!Bookwyrm. Even if I did town-read Bookwyrm627, reading people isn't among town!Bookwyrm627's strong suits, so there's that.
I haven't yet addressed JoeSapphire's posts, but nothing I saw in them makes me reconsider my vote on him, quite the contrary. And that he's AFK, with less than 3hrs left till deadline, doesn't make him look any better. I get the feeling that he's making his survival a matter of us not lynching a player that's not here to defend themselves, and claim at the very least. That no-one (besides mchack) seems bothered about this is quite a bit puzzling.
Better?
You seem to have missed my first question, so please reply.
I still don't get how they'd know if mchack's lying. From the C9++ mafia wiki page:
D = Doctor
DD = Doctor + 1-Shot Doctor
DDD = 2 Doctors
DDDD = 2 Doctors + 1-Shot Doctor
DDDDD = 3 Doctors
If we're in D, then mchack could be him, if we're in DD there's also a 1-shot one, if we're in DDD there's another one, but how would that 2nd Doctor know that mchack's not the other Doctor? Unless you mean something else with "they'd know mchack's lying"?
Let me rephrase. Do you see merit in his focus on Vitek? Do his arguments against him ring true to you?
You also said that he shaded you twice during D2. Have you changed your mind on that? If so, why? If not, how does it factor in with your view on his play consisting only on focusing on Vitek?
I answered your first question, maybe I didn't explain it well.
I don't think there are 3 doctors in the game, the chances of that happening with how few of people we have left and no one else saying anything about scene's claim are very low. So I would say at most we have two doctors and if there is another doctor in play who's not a one shot they would know mchack is lying because there can only be one doctor and one one shot doctor in play if there are two doctor roles. And mchack has made it clear he is a Doctor not a one shot Doctor.
I still think Joe was casting shade on me on Day 2, but he never pursued it like he did with his focus on Vitek.
