JoeSapphire: I object to supplementscene calling me a lurker! Lurkers are present, but quiet/silent. I wasn't here. I guess you've only got my word for that, but let's all appreciate the distinction, shall we?
As you just did a nearly full read, and thus have a somewhat "pure" view on it: Who all would you currently describe as real lurkers? JoeSapphire: Two people asked me questions I think? Hamster guy and... poppy? No. I can't remember what they are now. No I think one of them was "do I have any insight?"
I also asked what the "farm" was a euphemism for. Which, I'll note, you didn't answer. Willing to admit to being wrong: massive town tell!
*idly waits to see which of Poppy and Lift will be the first to now admit to possibly being wrong about the other*

PoppyAppletree: So, my last post was supposed to be a joke, but I guess I'm not really joking. Flub has so far been worse than useless. An empty chair marked "confirmed Townie" would be more useful to the Town than Flub has been. So, Flub: Please try to take the game at least somewhat seriously, rather than simply using it as an opportunity to get under other players' skin*. I don't find your antics amusing, and I'm not enjoying playing with you. Please bear that in mind, since we're supposed to be playing a game that is enjoyable for everyone. Stop using your Innocent Child status as an excuse to not contribute.
(* Which, incidentally, I consider to have no in-game utility, because even though I know you're Town I want you to be lynched or night-killed so I don't have to read your posts anymore.)

HSL asked perfectly valid and pertinent questions about your behaviour in this game, you don't get a free pass just because you're confirmed Town. If you're just going to be dead weight, then we're better off without you.
(And, quite frankly, I am one of the players who is currently most invested in the game and contributing most, so to imply through your excuse that I'm not putting in enough effort by refusing to go above and beyond #55 is utter bull. So, how about you chill with the ad hominem?)

gogtrial34987: *idly waits to see which of Poppy and Lift will be the first to now admit to possibly being wrong about the other*
Ooooohh! Me! Me! I wanna be the first! ...wait a moment. No. I don't think I am wrong about Poppy. Of course that is possible and the one thing that really makes this wagon strange is the speed at which it took off. Especially when Scene added his vote with a poor reason. So, is Scene hopping on for distancing? Or is Scene scum trying to drive a mislynch wagon? I am tempted to follow trent and switch to Scene - but trent already left the Poppy-wagon so the danger of an accidental speed-lynch is averted. And then, just as I was considering that the Wagon on Poppy might be wrong, Poppy did her best to convince me that I'm right after all. She waffles between 'solid read' and 'just a feeling'. Claims to have recognized a pattern, but cannot say from where. For me there is a big gap between 'just a gut feeling' and 'I am so convinced of my read that nothing will make me change my mind' ... So, Poppy is quite self-contradictory. But it gets worse. She seriously goes after the one confirmed player and even constructs a Bastard-mod scenario to justify why she is throwing dirt at flubbucket although he is confirmed. If she is town, that is very very bad play (and bad manners). If she's scum it just shows that she is desperate. Plus the unnecessary advice for possible Vigs (to look useful, I guess). Right now, I hope that my feeling is right and that she is scum.
Lifthrasil: Lift, as Poppy has declined to provide references, do you yourself remember any two games in which you - deliberately or not - showed this behaviour as scum, or any one game in which you did so as town?
Well, I don't remember in which game it was. But yes, it has happened in a game before that I came to the conclusion that my RVS vote was actually scummy. As far as I remember I was town then. And it was in a game before Poppy participated here. Perhaps I'll check which game that was if I get bored at work tomorrow. As scum I think I usually go after players who other players already find suspicious. Makes it easier to blend in. Although in the last two games, when I was scum, I tried of course to play as close to my town-game as possible. With partial success, I guess. People still saw me as scummy, but not enough to lynch me. Speaking of lynching, these would be my preferred candidates:
I still see Poppy as reasonable lynch
Scene takes a second place
Bookwyrm for lurking
Prepostedit:
... Oh, and the statement: "I don't like your play, so I would prefer if you die" is totally team play. And going after the only confirmed player. And insulting another player. Yes, I would also wish that flubb makes more use of his confirmed status. But you, trying to dictate how he has to play after you yourself complained that you don't like to be told how to play is really beyond scum or town. That's just bad style and low on a personal level.

Just as a heads up, I think I'm going to step back from the game for at least a day. The game is currently overlapping with personal issues in a way that make it impossible for me to enjoy the game.
You can lynch me if you think that's the right call. Right now I don't actually care.

*Sigh* I'm really not good at this sort of thing.
OK, here goes:
_ Everyone, please read rule 4 again.
_ Since this game is played on an internet forum, it might be especially difficult to distinguish between in-game behaviour and out-of-game genuine hurt. If you're unsure, please err on the side of caution.
_ As a moderator I can't and won't comment on any concerns regarding another player's game quality. Not in a game where deceit plays a vital role. You can post anything on someone else's game quality : any such discussions are allowed (as long as rule 4 is observed). But I won't comment.
_ Everyone is free to engage the game with as much or as little seriousness as they desire.
_ I will however respond to calling someone a "hateful player". Don't. It's totally uncalled for.
Crap. Typing this took me longer than it took me to write all role PMs and OP. An hour, and I barely wrote 5 points.
Please don't escalate this any further.
If any subs are needed, I am/will taking/take care of it.
flubbucket, Poppy, you may post in this thread again.

From everything seen so far I and if I had to choose right now from Poppy and Scene, the two of them being my original people of interest, I'd go with Scene. Even though I didn't really like the way Poppy started I think she is making defending in a decent manner. As a person I don't really like her quarrels with flub but in the context of the game and what I can make of her playstyle so far I can see that annoyance coming more from a Town mindset. Unless something major happens I don't feel like joining her wagon at the moment.
On the other hand there's scene. I have a generally bad feeling about him and following his interactions with others I'm left with a slightly bad taste in my mouth. Someone mentioned the possibility of him trying to buddy Poppy. I noticed a similar thing but back then I read it more as scum trying to coach his buddy who made made a mistake starting a discussion that was frowned upon by most others. That was one of the reasons why I asked Poppy if she had any past experience. Her answer and the way she handles herself makes it very unlikely that she needed coaching so buddying might have been the right call after all (if such thing was really happening that is). The whole bit about Scene getting concerned about her getting lynched based on early fluff seemed forced and felt like a setup to lean upon if and when she flips Town.
For the rest there isn't too much to say.
I like gogtrial.
I like the prod Wyrm is getting as I'm interested in what he might have to share about the state of affairs. Same about Hunter who still manages to keep low profile.
So far Trent is being Trent, Lift is being Lift, HSL is being HSL. These three have managed to solidify their playstyles so good that I can't really pick anything up anymore at the earlier stages of D1 unless something blows things up and makes them leave their comfort zone and do something out of character. Neutral. Maybe Trent is leaning slightly Town but I wouldn't rely on that.
Joe feels weird to me but this is the first time I'm playing with him so I'm still to figure out what that means and how he does things. I liked that he bit me and pulled back a bit, though. Same goes for SPF (the first bit).
I'm unsure about Dessimu as he has more pressing matters that are certainly affecting his gameplay and can't force myself to see him in a bad light. I just hope that he gets back to us soon and in a good shape regardless of alignment.

gogtrial34987: Hey, SPF, I find your posts rather floaty, and then half the time when you engage, it's with certified town?! Sure, you're defending yourself a bit - but that's not really helping town move forward.
Flub being town doesn't preclude him from throwing faulty logic around. I will challenge that when I see it because it doesn't help anyone other than mafia (as I unfortunately proved in the last game :P). gogtrial34987: Would you like to commit to something solid? Like, Poppy/scene/Lift: how do you read each of those three? And name one other person outside of flub and those three who's caught your attention - why, and how do you read them?
Any reason your vote is still on trent?
I just haven't moved my vote from Trent since RVS. I nearly moved it to Poppy earlier but I'm waiting and seeing since there's already a reasonable sized wagon there. Any reason your vote is still on trent?
Unvote Trent though because it's not there for a real reason.
Poppy - I find some people's reasons for voting her spurious and some more solid. SK-vibes, would support lynch.
Scene - Continues to make newbie errors, not sure how many games the grace period where we go easy on him should last... Along with flub, he was one of the ones to jump on "I'll live" as a bulletproof claim. No read yet.
Lift - Strangely aggressive. I'm not sure I've seen (or at least remember) what his town play is like. Scummy-glockenspiel.
I would absolutely without a doubt have my vote on Flub if he wasn't confirmed town. I kind of want to vote for him anyway, but at least he's good from a numbers point of view.

Sorry I’ve been out most of today, my youngest daughter bought me a gift of Diablo III Eternal Collection for the PS4 and we’ve been playing coop most of today. She’s awesome and it was a lot of fun :-D
Biggest thing I see right now is the head butting going on between flub and poppy, and it’s the last thing we need. I think poppy is town and her arguing with a confirmed townie is going to create a smoke screen for scum to hide behind. I have trouble believing scum would butt heads with a confirmed townie on Day 1, it would be a horrible play on scums part. For me it’s TvT going on and we need to move past it and try to find scum. I still say Supplementscene is our best shot at hitting scum today.

I have trouble believing scum would butt heads with a confirmed townie on Day 1, it would be a horrible play on scums part.
It is horrible play no matter which side she is on. I don't know whether her 'righteous indignation' is a sign that she's town or whether it's just an act to look towny. I haven't played enough with her to know whether she can put up such an act.
But I did a re-read of Scene. Initially I had weighted the three possibilities I mentioned equally. Naive townie giving credit where none is due, scum buddying up to town or scum supporting a scum-buddy. But upon re-reading I get less of that naive towny feeling. Especially since Scene isn't a newbie anymore. So that leaves 'scum-Scene buddying up to town-Poppy' or 'scum-Scene supporting scum-Poppy'.
His vote on her is definitely fishy too. He makes sure to state that he isn't sure about voting her. That's either, as dedo presumed, hedging against a later town-flip. Or it is preparation for jumping off the train later.
In any case, if my work-theory of her and Scene being buddies is true, it's actually not that important which one we lynch first. So, I'm fine with lynching Scene and having another intense look at Poppy tomorrow. But I still would support a Poppy-lynch too. For now, however:
vote Supplementscene
SirPrimalform: Poppy - I find some people's reasons for voting her spurious and some more solid. SK-vibes, would support lynch.
Why specifically SK and not regular scum? Can you elaborate where those vibes come from? Was it her 'Vig don't shoot' post or what? So... how about putting that vote in some more useful spot now?
