OK that's all quite interesting. And in theory a tactician like Lift probably doesn't pick someone who's just picked and voted for him.

How do Mafia pick their victim though? Let's say there are 3 Mafia players. Do they discuss it via chat? Do they vote like in Secret Hitler? What if they all vote for different players? Does 1 player have a trump vote? If so perhaps that player tries to throw another Mafia player, Lift perhaps, under the bus. If I was Mafia I'd know the answer to this but I could ofcourse be bluffing to appear 'innocent'.

Out of the lurkers we have: Sage, SirPrimalform, Yogsloth and Flubbucket. Now feel free to correct me if I'm wrong but after flicking through the 9 pages of the game I haven't picked any real analysis from any of these players. Sage had an explanation of bed ridden sickness but then didn't post since. Yogsloth and Flubbucket are just as concerning because while they've posted I haven't seen any analysis from either. Again correct me if someone can find them providing analysis and critique of other players.

What do we make of the no voters? Trent didn't vote, why not? Also a smart Mafia player might want to avoid lynching a town player anyway. Only 1 Mafia player can win, correct? So they need to see mafia buddies thrown under the bus. So not voting for town victim does not equate to innocence at all.

Mafia have a private chat at night, they usually discuss a target together and come to a consensus on who to kill. Why can be any number of reasons.

No, all Mafia win or lose as a team. They may bus each other to appear more townie, but it's generally only seen as a last resort.

trentonlf: Vote Sage

My question for everyone again is who is your pick for scum and why?

adaliabooks: Not sure I entirely agree about yogs
yogs is always a wild card, and one of the most dangerous mafia players if he draws mafia. But the way yogs played yesterday it doesn’t feel like scum yogs to me. Not saying he is a lock town, but I have him as very strong Town.

I’ve never played secret hitler so I’m not sure what rules are involved, but as adalia pointed out in a mafia game the mafia players are on a team and win or lose as a team. Also, I was voting at the end of the day yesterday. My vote was on Lift, Joe just missed the vote.

Hi guys! Yup, I've been lurking hard. Partially because I am a serial lurker, partially because I've been really busy at work (enrolment week at a college).

Vitek, because reasons.

Growl at Vitek
Last night I targeted Sage. It appears I got roleblocked, as all I know is it failed. So good for you, mafia.

Now, mafia didn't know who I was going to target, but I'm still more than comfortable beginning Day 2 with pressure here:

Head butt Sage

That's a bit... Ambiguous.

Interesting. So now you revealed that you have a PR (though for which side, remains to be seen). If you were blocked, you also can't be the one who performed the kill. But one question: if you are town, was it really a good idea to reveal that you have a PR? We don't really gain much from that reveal. Scum, however, do. If you are scum, however, and you were successfully blocked or jailed by a town PR, it might appear to be good play to openly reveal that you were blocked to appear honest. I believe that you were blocked, but unfortunately that doesn't mean you are town or that your target, Sage, is scum.

However, I do agree that putting some pressure on Sage is good. We shouldn't let her hide in obscurity.

@SPF: "because reasons" is not a helpful statement. If I weren't already voting for you at the moment, I would do so now.
Soooo, I know it's a weekend and all but are we all just going to sit on our hands and wait till the deadline to hurriedly lynch someone?

It would be nice to get some kind of proper info or analysis from anyone (other than the well intentioned newbie).

yogs semi claim is about the most interesting thing since daybreak...

I'm not buying this.

Sage is low hanging fruit.

You know what.. I think you're right.

Unvote Lift
Tackle yogsloth

I'm sorry, but if you're going to claim then claim. Claiming a power role and being blocked but not giving any further detail is useless, it paints a target on your back without providing town any info.
It attempts to make you look townie (I was blocked, blockers tend to be mafia therefore I must be town!) and you use it to throw shade at someone though it doesn't in anyway incriminate them.
I guess I could put my money where my mouth is...

Vaccinate: yogsloth
No role flip on death? What is this shit?

Looking at Bookwyrm he basically suspected only Lift and supplement in serious way.

Any other reason ot pick Sage out of the people you mentioned than that she already had vote on her?

Lifthrasil: About next targets: I say let's go for one of the lurkers. Especially in the case of SPF the amount of invisibility is strange. It's nothing new that Sage lurks. She has managed to hide scumminess behind that in the past, so maybe she is scum. But maybe it's just RL. Not sure yet. But in the case of SPF his coasting under the radar seems like he's intentionally avoiding attention.
I wouldn't say Sage is lurking, I would say she is mostly absent.
SPF on the other hand is lurking embodied. He appears any time he gets mentioned but rarely posts anything on his own and does nothing to catch scum.
One thing on this undoubtebly scummy behaviour is that it is exactly how I remember SPF of the old. I can't even count how many times I called him out ofr that and asked him to participate more. Most of the time he did that as town.
He was actually a bit more active when he was mafia.
Like in last game where he played differently.
So personally I tend to view this either as more similar to his town play or him simply being more busy as he claims. Or as SK play, as he also claims.

If votes force him to take part more, though, then I am all up for pushing him there.

avatar
Lifthrasil: Scene: I think is town. Yes, there were some strange posts but they are overall in line with how he played as Liberal in Secret Hitler.
Have you ever seen him as scum to compare it?

So you tried to mafia NK Sage, got blocked, in the meantime SK SirPrimal killed Bookwyrm and you both decided to share that. I like this scenario.

Lifthrasil: @SPF: "because reasons" is not a helpful statement. If I weren't already voting for you at the moment, I would do so now.
I'm simply not ready to share my reasons. If you like, I retract my statement. Let's imagine I voted for Vitek without saying anything else at all.
Bite SiR Prim Alfor M
lol

"low hanging fruit"

flub (or anyone), I direct you to your game years ago where Sage was mafia. Compare her posting then to her posting in this game.

I'm really comfortable right here.

...

And in other astonishing news, it turns out that yogsloth rolls Town approximately 75% of the time! Local bystanders share their shock at 11.
