Two OMGUSes are always better than one OMGUS! OMGUS for everyone!
It's a real thing...Synchronized OMGUSing
avatar
HijacK: Seeing as you vehemently follow some guides over others with experience that only destroys your credo in front of me.
I'm reminded of someone else who ignored the experience of others over doing his thing in his first game, I wonder what he has to say about that.
avatar
HijacK: Oh boy, if you think some guides are your way to success in this mafia forum group, you've got a lot to learn.
avatar
dedoporno: Guides actually are a good place to start for people who have a lot to learn.

avatar
HijacK: Oh my, OMGUS vote. My favorite type. Let's make it a duo!

dedoporno: Two OMGUSes are always better than one OMGUS! OMGUS for everyone!
You got an OMGUS! And you got an OMGUS! And you got an OMGUS! Everybody's got and OMGUS!

Who knows? Maybe tell us who exactly that is.

Exactly! I had a link to that meme originally, but forgot to put it before posting :D
I'm still looking for that thing that makes Bookwyrm627 (why do I always want to call them Bookwormy?) almost surely town, but either my observation skills have been negatively affected by following the Promo, or I'm too stupid to see what appears to be so obvious to others; or there's something else going on here. I sure hope that it won't turn out to be like that big town tell DarkoD13 had on adaliabooks last game.
Not sure what to make of those abstaining from this discussion - have they found it but are keeping silent, or are they keeping silent because they haven't?

Well I'm kind of in the same camp as Robbeasy in that it's tenuous at best. One word doesn't make someone a sure town, but his comment about looking for town tells/scum tells rang with me.

And this is why there's a difference between theoretical physics and applied physics.

HijacK: And this is why there's a difference between theoretical physics and applied physics.
This is the best and most spot on analogy I have ever read!

Wait, what?
avatar
HijacK: And this is why there's a difference between theoretical physics and applied physics.
Yeap. Theoretical physicists design the experiment, practical physicists make the experiment work. Or practical ones observe something weird in the experiment and theoretical ones explain it. Both are needed to verify each other results, neither of them can flourish alone.

And concerning post 304, I didn't think your memory was that bad. Do recall back to your first game, and to the advice other people were giving you. You did decide to ignore said advice and go your own way from what I recall, and wasn't that the game you lost?
avatar
Robbeasy: I am aware sticking this vote in right after Dedo will attract calls of following a wagon, or sticking with buddy, but all I can say is I was writing this before I saw Dedo had posted. I have to say I can't at the moment see exactly why Bookwyrm is almost certainly town, but I can confirm my vote for him was purely RVS. I think I'm voting for Trent for different reasons than Dedo anyway, but meh.

Trent - your case stinks - vote Trentonlf

Ixamyakxim: Vote Robbeasy

You lied here and nobody caught it? With no edits how could you be "writing this before I saw Dedo had posted" ???

Maybe you are a scumbuddy of Dedo, so I reserve the right to hop off you and onto Dedo to find out. And please don't break out some lame excuse like you refreshed the thread as you were typing and decided to add in the bit above. That's pretty weak.
No lie sir - i did indeed refresh before i posted, then added the second part. It may seem weak to you, but not as weak as proclaiming me a liar when theres a perfectly reasonable explanation
I don't see a point in waiting any longer for sharing my observation, RWarehall kind of gave it away anyway, so I guess this is as good as it gets.

So, here it is. First, let's have a look at Bookwyrm's very first game post.

Bookwyrm627: ALRIGHT LETS DO THIS! LEEEEROOOOOOOYYYYYY JEEEEENNNNNKKKKKIIINNNNNSSSS!

As I understand it, now ensues the Wild Mass Guessing phase of the game. Since anyone that can come up with this simply must be evil, Vote Sage103082 .

I am, of course, a loyalist, etc. etc. etc.

(Man, now I wish I had a preview button, to make sure this looks right)
Pretty much random nonsense, but there is one very specific thing that caught my eye instantly.
I am, of course, a loyalist, etc. etc. etc.
Interesting choice of words. People usually will refer to themselves as Town, townie or other such derivatives. "Loyalist" is oddly specific. Especially when it's not part of the OP. What is part of is my own PM (and I'm guessing everyone who is a Clear Sky operative).

Of course, I don't fully discard the possibility of scum guessing this, since their own PMs may include the term, but still, way too specific to pass by. And, like so many people already said, we don't have much to work with, so even the smallest things are useful.

So, what I was able to take out from all of this is the following:

- Bookwyrm is almost certainly Town.
- So is RWarehall.
- Just a bit less certain for Robbeasy, since we already gave a couple of hints when he "picked up" (including Lift, who tried to smudge things up with one of the flavor intermissions :D)

There are another two people who I suspect should be on our side as well, but the reason there is way too flimsy to give them more credit. For now I will keep it for myself, but will share prior to my potential lynch, if this goes on.

In addition I'm not too fond of Ix's entry. Calling Robb a liar because of the presented reason and placing a vote on him (and I'm pretty sure we are out of RVS now) doesn't sit well with me, especially when I see Robb as leaning Town.

I don't like Sage's posts too much as well - a bunch of words, but not too much of value. We had this last game. One of her last posts there still rings in my head.

Hijack also feels odd. He usually pushes aggressively and uses decent arguments, but this time that doesn't seem to be the case. Scum's easiest pray are usually new players who may believe they are doing us a favor, but actually making mistakes (I know, since I've been there myself). Bookwyrm is more or less in that situation and it's doubt only townies are picking on him.

We'll see.

So, that's that.
I have discovered a truly marvellous proof of who is scum, which this thread is too small to contain.

(math jokes, amirite?)
I'll admit again one word isn't enough to put a player as town.

However looking for town tells is also a powerful tool to use to scum hunt.

Unvote: dedoporno
Dang simul-posts. I could have just appended my silly joke to this reply...

This is what I figured. It is out of place, but that should be obvious to anyone, regardless of their PM/alignment, because it is such a random term for a generic Mafia game. I am not sure why you made such a bug deal about it, honestly.
