It seems that you're using an outdated browser. Some things may not work as they should (or don't work at all).
We suggest you upgrade newer and better browser like: Chrome, Firefox, Internet Explorer or Opera

I noticed that, for a while, even if some google scripts were present, blocking them wouldn't prevent us from login in(?).

Now, It seems we can't login without google scripts working.

Is this just me or are you also experiencing this 'issue'?

Yes, it happened to me too. It's clearly normal, considering the blurb in the login box (see screenshot).

While not the best of solutions and while GOG doesn't fix this (hopefully they do, but I'm not holding my breath since they don't usually fix issues unless it escalates a lot), I'd suggest using tools for blocking scripts (e.g. NoScript) and block everything Google related (Facebook and Yandex related too), and only allow Google's scripts when you want to login, and block them again right after.

...Yes :/
Oh well, thanks.

Ditto. Noscript has a nice feature where the red ! will temporarily run all scripts, just long enough to not have to reload things a hundred times if it relies on a lot of scripts, or temporarily allowing google and static.google.

Although seeing the 'continue with facebook' i wonder if i always used it if i would be blocked since Facebook decided to kick me off 6 months ago. Good thing i never used or relied on it.

I noticed this today. Need to enable the ReCAPTCHA script in Noscript.
I also noticed this only recently since I'm using Pihole to block Google's domains. This really discourages me from logging in and I wish GOG would re-evaluate their decisions in including Google scripts. I already sent support a message regarding this but given the unlikelyness of them actually nixing reCAPTCHA (among other Google APIs) I don't think I'll return anytime soon.

Iirc: you also need to unblock them(google/captcha) to redeem game keys, change things like avatar, and possibly to make purchases.
I run both Opera's built in tracker blocker and Privacy Badger and I don't have any problems logging into the site. Not even a delay or anything of the like. Maybe it only does this on certain browsers?
Google Pay was required for any card payments for a while, but that has since been fixed. I didn't buy anything from GOG during that time (and opened a support request telling them why).

I don't doubt you'd get the same experience in Firefox with Privacy Badger and the built-in tracking protection.

Privacy utilities and features don't block reCAPTCHA. First of all, it's not a tracker. It's an anti-bot protection system that's owned by a company infamous for invading users' privacy. Secondly, blocking reCAPTCHA would break a large portion of websites.

Only people who have more restrictive blocking policies would run into this issue. For example, blocking Google on third-party sites by default, or blocking all third-party content by default.

I only tried those things with recaptcha blocked so far and it would let me do them. I can try with all of Google's services blocked to see how it goes, tho.

So... you are afraid of scripts from Google on login but you are not afraid of scripts from gog-statics.com domain?

It's called "gog-statics" but it belongs to... Tencent (more info).

If you don't allow it to work in the background then you can't access your GOG profile (and any things you bought on GOG).

Done. Thanks for the recommendation!

Hey, you should stop invading my pc while im out. :P Just kidding.
Yeah I noticed that too. Im aware of Tencent dominating the market, unfortunately.

Thank you for the heads up about gog-statistics domain though, it will definetly help. I believe we know we can use other tools to download games from our accounts here though, so blocking gog-statistics wouldn't be a problem, I think? Whats your experience about this? (lgogdownloader, gogcli, etc)
