*sigh*...no, there is no GOG client on Steam. You link your Steam account to your account here on GOG using the button on the Connect page.

reclaprecious: Wait what so the email from Valve at eml.cc asking me to buy gog was a lie?
........
Please tell me you're either trolling or joking.
If not, you're being scammed.

OldOldGamer: Whatever everyone say, I think things will change over time, since this collaboration started.

Doesn't mean for the worse.
But doesn't mean for the better, either.
It;s not a collaboration. It's using and OPEN API to access your Steam account to ascertain your games, and publishers have agreed to gift free copies of specific games you own on Steam to your GOG account. VALVe and Steam didn't even have to be notified, as they have rules in place for using this API (legal agreements etc). I understand why people think Steam is involved, but they're really not in any capacity, except providing your library list to GOG.

I'm quite curious about the contents of that e-mail. O_o
Guys, I think some of you were over-react to this thing.

First, GOG will continue publish DRM-free games.

Second, GOG is a company and company needs to get more money to run the business--there is no problem for GOG corporate with Valve to bring new things and this makes money for both company.

Third, maybe there are some old Valve games will be published by GOG with DRM-free feature, who knows : )
i dont know much about these changes or future changes but...
if this means we can play online with steam players in future, thats awesome :)

gog only needs to stay drm free and thats it after all (and avoid the stupid "achievement" system lol)

Um...no, it doesn't. You would know this if you read the FAQ, item #12.
"This depends entirely on the game – not all games support multiplayer gameplay between Steam and GOG.com."

Too late. There are achievements already. However, they are as optional as they've ever been anywhere. As in you don't have to notice them at all. They're also tied to Galaxy Client.

It's ok, it was totally legit, it was sent by his rich Nigerian cousin who's going to give him the fortune he inherited as soon as he pays around $4,000 in money transference fees.
No no no, you got it all wrong!
You need to check GOG Connect every five days and buy all mentioned games on uplay. Don't forget to install origin and make a rockstar games social club account!

People still say dumb things like this, given the society and evidence around us everyday?

Grargar: Nothing. You don't have to.

Sorry, I need to learn to read before posting. Only applies to GOG Connect. My bad.

At least it made me join the forum.

Welcome to the community. :)
To be honest, I was really surprised when GOG emailed me regarding this matter.

I believe this only applies to the games that we get through GOG Connect, and not the games that we have bought from GOG itself. That's just my opinion though. I went to read GOG's Privacy Policy (not the User Agreement), but didn't finish it.
I don't see the point. Why would I want to link my GoG account to Steam or vice verse? Maybe it was explained in that email -- the one I didn't even attempt to read because of its total lack of accessibility (white on white?).

At any rate, seems like much ado about nothing.
You know that saying "you've got chocolate in my peanut butter"? can someone please explain to GOG that it doesn't work for "You've put shit in my ice cream".

Oh yeah, and the obligatory "Screw you GOG" for changing the terms I'm willing to agree to with you, for the sake of a different company that shouldn't have any fucking say in the matter.

GOG isn't a shadow of the company it used to be.
