So I got the email you all got about legal changes regarding "connection" and can only assume Valve have some patent on a from end that allows purchases and downloading of games!

It's time to be very scared about Valve. Very scared indeed - and the fact that GOG has to change it's agreements with it customers because of it is taking us down roads I worry about!
yes watch out...
Steam is coming to get you
better duck and hide
Is there any tin foil here? We need to make some hats... quick!

I think there is a chance that Valve buys GOG and things will change dramatically at that point.

I actually do think that GOG's model is going to change because of Valve and other pressures. I think within a year the Galaxy client will be required. Then I say bye bye GOG.

You know, while I do agree that a lot of panicking about GOG becoming Steam, Amazon scripts and what have you could be called tin-foil hat paranoia, I also think people here are getting a bit to happy to just call that every experssion of doubt of concern about GOGs policies and future. A little bit of vigilance might do us good. We don't need to go all Lone Gunmen, but some unwelcome changes to how GOG operates are certainly not outsied of the realm of possibilty, especially when big new features like Galaxy, In Development or Connect are introduced. Especially when something is, at least to an extant, a joint venture with Steam.

I guess it might be a Boy Who Cried Wolf syndrome, too many such concerns having been voiced in recent time, often in too dramatic ways (I myself might be somewhat to blame in some cases), but I'd rather listen to some tin-foil hat nonsense every so often, then let some actually issues go by without anyones concern. I'd rather GOG see their user-base as overly sensitive and suspicious of changes, then as willing to let anything slide.
can you show, the changes in the eula?

and you maybe should wake up, gog is taking its customers down roads since 2014
WTF?!?!?!?

DID WE JUST AGREE TO THE NEW TERMS???

The ones that explicitly state that in a random point in time we'll be raped by toothless middle-aged men wearing tinfoil hats?
