Finally, a post that understands me. I don’t like even like it when recognizable forum users stop posting. Change is my nemesis, and one day I shall gather you all up in a giant bottle for preservation.

Why would you want a forum overhaul? Do you want the forum to end up looking like the rest of the site, to have new bugs to fight with, and the search function to be as broken as it is now?

I really hope so, just not sure if I want GOG to do it or if I'd prefer they use a freely available forum software. xD

+1, it's the very least that deserves!

I'm hoping GOG will use IPB or some other powerful forum tool that is known to work

well without going so far :

adding some functions while creating a post , wouldn't be a luxury

also some subsections in the general forums, nothing specials just some , it's a common sense i guess.

in other hand if they change their forum software , i wonder if it's a good idea.....

You should know by now that GOG loves to do this sort of stuff in-house, so...
There's also the question of if third party tools would work well together with the rest of the site where the two link/ connect.

Except that absent all the other baggage, the post you linked to earlier was basically just him telling a newcomer "if you want to enjoy the internet, avoid the people."
