GoG announced today that they will region lock about 20 games for Germans this week. It seems as if GoG wants to kill it`s german market.
They decided to threat us germans not as adults, but as little Kindergarten kids, which I find inacceptable.

Before I jump in with a fork and torch, what games are these? Are they banned in germany? Or do they have nazis in them?

Yeah, region locking is mainly a legal problem and not necessarily GOG's choice.

As you are a German I want to learn about this stuff, being totally serious here.

We all know about the laws pertaining to these games, but what about said production? I would imagine there are game devs in Germany, and some damn good ones, but are there laws in place dictating what they cannot include in their production?

Is it a better country now that those games aren't in it?

I know in Germany there are laws stating swastikas cannot be shown and blood has to be green. Are there any others that might affect these games?

Edit: As a follow up to what Mobutu said: If someone buys one of those games then gifts it to a german friend? Is that ok?
