And for completeness sake, I'll post a link to my latest wishlist entry here as well: it would be nice to have the option on GOG to age-verify one's account so that one can still buy age-restricted games.

They decided to threat us germans not as adults, but as little Kindergarten kids, which I find inacceptable.
Bah, ridiculous, they're even going to block Dark forces (yeah, because that one will turn today's kiddies into spree killers...). I'm mostly unaffected since I'm not a big FPS fan, but still, very disappointing (as was making Commandos unavailable for German buyers because of the swastikas...glad I bought those games before).
But ultimately I guess the problem is Germany being a shitty authoritarian country with idiotic laws...so not primarily Gog's fault.

German Government doesn`t like it when their people fight against Nazis, so games are forbidden if you can fight Nazis in them.

It's not OK to kill zombies. A lot of Zombie games are indexed in germany, like Dead Island, the Dead Rising series or Dying Light.

It's a bit of both. From what I understand, those games are indexed (i.e. they aren't really banned but they can't be advertised or sold to minors) which means that Gog could still sell them to german adults, provided they implement a proper age verification system.

However, it seems that for Gog (and many other stores) it's easier to region lock the games rather than comply with the assbackwards german logic.

Which also means that 'GOG IS CENSORSHIP' will be the new 'Canadian Prices' threads for a while. :/

My father has an interest in WW2-era aircraft and occasionally buys magazines about that topic...he's told me they're redoing WW2 era pictures so no swastikas are visible on aircraft markings (not limited to just German planes, but also affects e.g. Finnish planes which had blue swastikas iirc).
There have even been cases where leftie activists have been tried and sentenced by courts for using Nazi symbols in anti-Nazi activities (like smashing or crossing them over, can't recall the exact details)...intent doesn't seem to matter for those law cretins.

By the way, I wonder if HoI 2/3, Paradox's WW2 games, still sold or not on GOG.The devs had to get rid of swastika.
