They did this before releasing linux support ಥ_ಥ
You can always download a Windows trial, install it to a Virtual Machine and claim your copy of System Shock 2. A hassle, but it should work.

embed.gog.com and a proper user agent means you don't need the client to claim your game. Tell me if you want me to go looking for the post with said user agent, though I'm not sure I recall where in the forum I encountered it.
crap, it looks I was too late.. downloaded GOG, but System shock 2 is not free anymore.. I unistalled gog.. maybe next time..

I don't know how long the offer will last, but if you're in a hurry you could try Wine: https://appdb.winehq.org/objectManager.php?sClass=application&iId=16854 | I'm not sure if that'll work though.

EDIT | I just checked and can confirm what shannshann81 said, the offer is no longer available, sorry.

Do you think he found a way to format the internet?!
The client is called GOG Galaxy.
..and works fine in wine, if you really want it.
Of course you can use it only with windows games.

This is one of those things that's like sand in my underwear to me. It's GOG Galaxy, not freakin' GOG. A very minor, insignificant thing, but it drives me crazy.

The other one that gets me is when people think that GoG is just The Witcher 3 and that everyone will instantly know what the problem is by saying "The game doesn't load" without giving any system specs or confirming the game installed.

Aye, and the bolded part is the most egregious IMO.
