Maybe they had an incident with someone impersonating GOG staff and made a policy to try to stop it.

there used to be someone in here who said I was Steam staff. I guess it goes both ways.

Breja: Maybe it's opposite day or something, but for once I think both GOG and Steam are being perfectly rational and I don't know what has people making a fuss.
It must be because for once I actually agree with you.

Breja: I don't know what has people making a fuss.
It's not like we've got anything better to do in here.

We could play chase TinyE and Zeogold with pitchforks instead.

Because I wanted to randomly include him.

True, things have been quiet lately. Maybe... too quiet.
avatar
zeogold: Actually, that much I can understand, but I'm still trying to figure out what brought him into prominence enough that GOG got worried about him looking too official.
Consider the number of threads on Steam, how much total time employees on GOG look at Steam threads, how many of those threads that Pooka is likely to comment in, and whether the employees read far enough in the comments to actually see Pooka's comment, and it isn't as surprising. And that doesn't even get into whether the GOG employee happened to notice that Pooka isn't actually affiliated.

Could just be that someone from GOG finally happened to read a Steam thread long enough to see Pooka's comment, read the username of the poster, and realized that Pooka isn't some unknown co-worker.
Okay, not even [GOGUser] is enough for them.

Planning to respond back to the Steam ticket to inquiry about why [GOGUser] is not enough.

Well y'know what, screw it. They didn't touch my important part of the name, and if they want to disassociate, all the power. I can live with that. And even though the idea of disassociation may be off-throwing, that's nuffin compared to their Galaxy installers deal or at least how they approached it, which is also not enough to throw me off from supporting them. At least yet.

So no contacting Steam support.

Although they might want to chase after the other users who have the same exact tag as I did. But I don't really care.

Shouldn't take long, there are only three other people that have it

What is the point of those anyway?
