It seems that you're using an outdated browser. Some things may not work as they should (or don't work at all).
We suggest you upgrade newer and better browser like: Chrome, Firefox, Internet Explorer or Opera

kohlrak: No. It's because the linux ones gog had to code themselves, i assume. I've been told for a while now the Windows installers use Inno.

Darvond: Except not quite.

GOG has happily been using the 2010 version of Mojo Setup for SOME REASON, without updating the installers in the slightest. Now with GTK4 on the horizon, those GTK2 widgets are starting to look hella outdated.

(Addendum: Thanks GOG. Your reliance on BBcode made me edit this post four times to get it looking right.)
Well for linux installer,s the last on i used (i mostly use linux on my server only for th time being) was using NCURSES.

Maxvorstadt: Well, the IE thing is not a thing of GOG alone.
Yep, there are many lazy or b-grade coders out there.

Windows has a simple ShellExecute command that will open the default program for a file type or web link. It is a very very simple thing to code for. It takes a bit more code and thought to use a non default browser, though I guess with IE it is a known location, seeing as it comes pre-installed, so not a lot of extra code.

And maybe there is an element of cost cutting too. Only spend time getting things to look right in IE, so maybe less coding overall, just poor pathetic browser support.

My view, is it is a crime for IE to run on my PC. So the fact some code for that deliberately is intolerable and disrespectful of my wishes.

Well, you can always replace the iexplorer.exe file with a symlink pointing to your web browser (used PowerShell for this. It worked) :)

Yeah, I'm sure casual users are just raring to go to create a Symbolic Link. (Especially one that'll potentially be reset after an update.)

Welcome to the club. Even a browser supported by donations, like SeaMonkey has beaten IE. It was beaten to a pulp.

I'm unaware of an option to uninstall IE being ever included, in a Win 7 update. But you can do that, in Win 10.

If I find a way of getting rid of Ms Store, I'm going to do that, as well.
