RWarehall: It's from Humble Bundle, right? Humble Bundle has been known to rescind codes in the past and issue new ones in the case of scams. I'd contact them. They are the ones who can removed it and re-issue it.

I will say, all that stuff over the DOTA item should have been a clear tell it was a scammer.
I don't think they can help me in the case that I got scammed by trading (a fine, working code) I got from them.
It's my fault, after all.

They have helped others, just look at what they did for Liberteer (known scammers thread).

Gonen32: (it would be nice of you guys, mkay ?)
Ok, how do you want us to help you confront him? I can come up with some nasty things you can call him so that he will feel bad, like "dickweed" or "asswipe" and such. Will that help you confront him?

Start with those nicknames and see how he reacts, then report back. There's more where those came from you know, I have even nastier nicknames in my backpack.
+Rep on profile are meaningless, Some user even trade +feedback profile. Instead, use steamrep.com likes siulebuo did.

I was thinking about "doo doo head" but I may use your suggestions when I will finally 1v1 him irl, thanks !
OK, I've just sumbited a request to HB, I just want them to cancel the bastard's key.

(Just hope that it wont backfire on me since I didn't used the formal gifting method and its not a TOS violation in any way)

Best of luck to you. Do keep us posted.
So basically (If I understood the long chat talk correctly) he told you that he was afraid you would back out after he sold his own item and bought you a game for which he would have no use and he was thinking that it would be a lot of hassle to refund it?

There is no hassle involved. People do refund games all the time on steam since they were ordered by law to implement a refund system and as long as it has not been played longer than 2 hours (some people even refunded games because they managed to finish some games in under 2 hours) they'll refund it automatically. There is absolutely NO reason why he should not have sold his item and buy the game first since refund would be a piece of cake. And especially this lame explanation should never be a reason to go first.
He probably scammed that item from someone else and was trying to "launder" it. If he trades it to you and you sell it, when it gets revoked, it comes out of your pocket, not his. That is if he ever seriously intended to give you anything in the first place.
Gonen32, since I went through scammer's hell few weeks ago and managed to return all of my keys, here's what I did.

1. Report the profile for scamming. You can find report button on everyone's profile page. Choose ''Attempted scammer'' or something like that. Bear in mind Steam support will probably not going to come back to you, mainly because they have one of the worst support systems in existence today. They're the only one who didn't get to me when Sailornite scammed me. GOG did, Humble Bundle did.

2. In case your key was part of Humble Bundle, contact their support (Humble Ninjas) and choose the option Account>Account Hacked or Compromised at https://support.humblebundle.com/hc/en-us/requests/new. Describe what happened and ask for keys to be revoked. Be sure to include name of stolen game, bundle it was part of and transaction ID from your Paypal account to prove you bought it for yourself.

All the best!

Rather than resorting to a playground slanging match try and keep any future interactions with them as civil as you can. Confronting them will probably not achieve half as much as going through the various support channels open to you. Whether directly with them or by mentioning them in threads. Anecdotal stuff that also involve you might still be considered naming and shaming by some mods on steam so the less inflamatory the better.

The anonimity of the internet means twats that are willing to steal a few quids worth of a game won't care about your attempts to get what you're due.

Would be nothing worse than venting your wrath at them only to find you get a slap on the wrist for doing so.
