Yep, upon seeing the latest "social media manager" job available at GOG, I noticed something and cross-checked it with the other job offers......

......they used to drop the "mystery" word in the job desciptions which was a random word put in the text that you had to include into your job application letter as a proof that "you give attention to details".....

Needless to say that it's a sign that the end of Times is upon us! We're all doomed! Next step into the decadence is accepting remote workers, urgh! :o)

Nah. Borg drones are better. Much more efficient.

I wish they would... I would apply in a shot if I could work remotely.

Nah, me first! They must give priority to their oldest registered and loyal users ^o^

Well I'm fairly sure you'd have a much better chance of getting the job anyway (unless they really lower their standards!), but there are enough spots still being advertised to go around ;)
How long till GOG support outsourced to India?

Umm we still have that for positions that actually require that sort of attention to detail. See the junior QA position.

Pfffft! Fat chance, buddy boy! What they REALLY want is a fresh, new face! Somebody who could appeal to the young crowd, the ones who ACTUALLY use social media!
...
...Let's cut to the chase: so y'all are totally hiring me, right? Right?
Come on, I'm trying to pay for college, here!
I'm broke, man!

mmm, that's the kind of recruitment thing I imagine would more fit jobs like developers and engineers (unless they're supposed to be "tidy" by their function and in contrast, QA applicants are more likely to be "loose" on details ^o^)

Like a true metrosexual of our times, I've been applying my Nivea moisturizer cream everyday on my face so I still look like a student in his twenties :o)

I haven't hit 20. Your move, pal.
"Engange users to become advocates of GOG.com and spread the word about us. " - Engange is the secret word obviously. Eye for detail, hah.

It's silly that a social media job requires you to go work in Poland though when it's something anyone can do even from home. Requirements are easy peasy lemon squeezy. I just don't see why they think Google+ or Reddit are relevant. No one uses G+ anymore and Redditors are just loud, which is mistaken often for being important.

I honestly don't see how they could benefit much from any social media. It seems to me that they're trying to draw in a younger crowd (my age - 20s), but just from the forum alone, you can pretty much tell that the clientele is mainly old guys (30+). I think they'd have better luck spending their time advertising elsewhere.
I thought it was something about FEAR ;)

The knowledge and life experience of elders people prevails for a job at GOG (after all it's originally a place for old gamers ^o^). I also have the extra-perk of speaking French natively so I can easily communicate with a part of the team:

That gives me the bonus to call Guillaume Rambourg "Guigui" :o)

Sound like catpower1980 doesn't have nearly enough attention to detail to even be considered.
