Apparently GOG are hand-picking users to give them a free game from their wishlist as seen in the image below:

What's the condition that they are being picked? Some of us have been customers for a long time, shouldn't our loyalty be before just "random"?
Haven't got anything. Probably the criteria is random :/

They are? Well, good for them, and good for the lucky recipients of the gifts. That said, could we please not turn this into some jealousy fueled argument about who is most deserving of free stuff from GOG? Because that would be nasty. And besides the point. We've had enough nasty threads lately - Thanks.

Congrats to everyone who gets any free games, it's always nice to get unexpected surprises like that!
Interesting. Seems like there is more and more stuff where people are chosen based on some "only gog knows" conditions. Like when they gave away codes for a huge discount for NWN 2.
I don't really like this way gog is doing things, but congrats to everyone who gets a free game :-)
I received an email saying they wanted to give me a free game from my wishlist but apparently it's a code for The Witcher which I already have. I guess it's not working as intended?

Certainly beats how they gave away free games during some of the old Insomnia promos, where your only chance to get one was either a lighting fast internet connection or abuse of website script exploits.

Oh yeah certainly, that was a mess :D

I agree very much with this, having to wire past the router to have a chance was not a good thing.
While it would of course be nice to get some sort of recognition from GOG for my long-standing support of their financial well-being, it would also seem somewhat elitist. Basically, I don't see myself seriously complaining about a lack of favouritism on GOG's part any time soon.

I get that it can seem unfair that new people who have possibly never actually bought a game here may be getting "free stuff", while people who have been here for years and bought hundreds of games get nothing, but I don't think the alternative is necessarily better.
Either GOG is sending e-mails in batches (as they have a tendency of doing so), or they are trying to entice newer members into spending more money here.

Or just don't open this thread... your comments don't contribute to the point of this thread.

Having said that, it probably is to entice new people to buy into GOG.
Aye must be to get new people to come here. Nice advertising tactic if it is.

That's what they already tried recently with the people who grabbed the free Neverwinter Nights but didn't purchase anything after that.

If at first you don't succeed...
