You guys do realize there was/is one of those gleam.io giveaways, right?

....then try, try again.

Thanks zeogold for clarifying that. The day looks much brighter now.

Thanks for the clarification.
I considered making a thread about it earlier when I first saw it, but, I mean, y'know...gotta boost my chances and all. Nothing personal, y'all.

(That, and I figured that somebody on the forum had already said something about it many hours before I did, as is the usual. This has got to be the first time I've ever found out something GOG-related before anyone else on here could. I feel so special now.)

Given that this is the case, I wonder whether this guy is absent-minded and forgot he entered the giveaway, or gog, concurrently to the giveaway, is also giving games to random people.
Just saying, because this is quite the mystery...

I was kinda wondering that myself. My suspicion is that he just entered and assumed it was what we were talking about, but the only way to find out is to see if he responds or if anybody who didn't enter gets a key.

I was actually referring more to the part "just out of nowhere" from his post, hence my "forgot he entered" part -if he had enterred wouldn't he have assumed he won in the ga or something? Kind of mind-boggling really...

Naw, I think you got it right, Treasure.
Appears to be two different things, pretty sure Gog is doing the sneaky giveaway thing (some earlier poster even said he received The Witcher out of nowhere, too).

Edit: Yep, yep. http://67.227.255.239/forum/showthread.php?p=230352452
Those Gog wishlist-giveaway (check us out on facebook!!) promos Zeogold mentioned seem to be all over the place as well, though (indiedb, RPS, to name but a few).

Dralel: Thanks for the clarification.
I think that's him saying, oh forgot I did that.

Then again, I assume you have to actually use the wishlist, to get included, and I never use it.

I see nothing wrong with GOG giving selected users free games.
I'd use the total amount spent, as the cutoff point, buy more, get more free.
I'd also prefer an amount of store credit, and let me put it to any game, than get a random freebie.

Somehow I was looking at the wrong post.
Neveryoumind, ignore my statement there.

CharlesGrey: They are? Well, good for them, and good for the lucky recipients of the gifts. That said, could we please not turn this into some jealousy fueled argument about who is most deserving of free stuff from GOG? Because that would be nasty. And besides the point. We've had enough nasty threads lately - Thanks.

Dralel: Or just don't open this thread... your comments don't contribute to the point of this thread.

Having said that, it probably is to entice new people to buy into GOG.
Will keep that in mind for next time, if you make sure to pick a more specific thread title. Something along the lines of "GOG is giving away free stuff to other people, waaah I want free stuff too!" will probably do the trick. The current thread title actually made it look mildly interesting and relevant.
It'd like to see loyal users rewarded more often (those who have purchased a large percentage of the catalog, and not through G2A keys :P), but yeah this is probably random. Don't worry about it.

Maybe GOG just needs more options for "tiered" games during one of those "spend this much money, get this game" sales.
If it helps, I entered no giveaway and got a code for a free game, even though I already have it.
