InkPanther: I got both keys by contacting support. For Cossacks it was just simple plain text in an email well over a year ago (there's even multiplayer notice on the game page) and for UT2004 it was in form of a .reg file. You can also look at specific subforums - there are some topics about keys for multi.
Thank you for the confirmation. Added to the list.

Empire Earth doesn't require a serial key. I can access some multiplayer functions but as Sierra took the server down, this thread by Save-EE in the EE subforum links to a new server and patch to connect to it.

Sachys: Sacred Gold wants CD keys for online multiplayer, but not LAN.
avatar
Grargar: I guess it's no longer needed as the official servers are down, right?
Yep.

Thanks to both of you. Updated the list.

Oooh this one is a doozie! Far Cry...requires a uPlay account! To quote GiroRobber from the thread I linked:

"Online (not LAN, you can use the same copy on the same network locally, though it does check ping) uses a form of Uplay; you need a Ubi.com account and password that you have to enter every launch, and a CD key (once per install, you need to contact GOG to get it), even to access the "join by ip" function."

I installed and tested it, and it does indeed want me to create a uPlay account.

Edit: see post #13 as American Conquest has now been tested. Onto the next one...

O_O
Well, I certainly didn't expect that.

Tarnicus: If you don't hear back from me, the serial killers have won!
Crap, I was just taking a sip of coffee when I read it. I managed not to spit it all over my screen. I almost suffocated instead.

I saw your post, but haven't updated my opening post as I would like you to do one more thing; contact support and ask for a multiplayer key (Choose multiplayer key request as the problem type). Don't worry, I can wait. ;)

Tarnicus: - American Conquest + Fight Back requires a code for internet multiplayer. The form requested my full name, email address, ICQ number(I'd have to go back to the 90s to find it! :P) and a bunch of other crap.
Hah! Now that's an interesting idea for making sure only mature people play the game, request the user ID for a long since abandoned social network or chat service (how many teens today know what ICQ is? or even recognise the name?).

... of course, it's also a fairly good way of making sure no one at all plays the game, but let's not get caught up in details.

You almost suffocated? Apparently the serial killers need another strategy for you.

I just verified your "needs confirmation" list against what my library shows.

- American Conquest + Fight Back
** Library has no key

- ArmA: Cold War Assault±
** Library has no key

- ArmA 2: Combined Operations±
** Library shows my key

- Empire Earth 2 Gold Edition
** Library has no key

- Empire Earth 3
** Library has no key

- Far Cry
** Library has no key

- I.G.I. 2: Covert Strike
** (i don't have this one)

- SpellForce Platinum±
** Library has no key

- SpellForce 2: Dragon Storm±
** Library has no key

- SpellForce 2: Shadow Wars±
** Library has no key

- Two Worlds Epic Edition
** Which game did you mean? Two Worlds or Two Worlds 2 Epic Edition?
** Former: Library has no key
** Latter: Library shows my key

"Library has no key" doesn't mean the game doesn't need it; just that GOG's library doesn't show one.

I also asked GOG support for my ICQ number from 1999 :P

But of course! I like getting up-to-date info, Tarnicus. ;)

I have also contacted support about Two Worlds and about the SpellForce games. Let's see whether a) they are needed and b) GOG can provide them, despite the fact that they are removed games (the SpellForce ones, that is).

And they say coffee is harmless, no wonder I don't drink the stuff! :P

Settlers 2: 10th Anniversary
Settlers 3: Ultimate Collection
