Recently I tried to install a game downloaded from GOG. Normally games can be installed without problems regardless whatever game client usin (Lutris or Galaxy or Mini Galaxy, etc.).
I have Lutris on my machine, it went ok with starting up installation as normal, but this time I revoked internet access of Lutris to test if the GOG games can be installed offline.
It turned out to be no. It does seem the GOG installer needs internet to perform some check to their server in order to install the game, otherwise the installer will crash Wine.
I notice the GOG installer comes with Ads during the installation process, these ads are likely the issue that prevents games being installed properly when offline.
Im not sure if this is currently a bug, or something intentional. Regardless of the intention for now, I think I could say this is obviously a DRM from GOG.
