Client, client, client, client... Have you considered installing the game normally? you know without a client?

Unless the installer is corrupted, which might as well be the case considering the gog bears and problems the gog web was having. This shouldn't have happened, the whole point of offline installers is to... well, work offline!

But honestly, i'm blaming whatever unorthodox client based installation method you were using.

Which game and did you use galaxy or offline installer from a broswer?

Anyway, try normal wine. No lutris. Tell us what happens.

What game? Or is it a secret, e.g. a hentai game?

Should be easy to others to confirm whether the said game really requires an internet connection. I am not saying it isn't possible such GOG installers exist, but most probably it isn't at least intentional on GOG's part. Could be e.g. the Unity analytics stuff or something.

Offline installers work fine on through Lutris without internet, did just that a couple of days ago.

Unless the game you are trying to install is "special" in some way, there should be no reason for it to access the internet at all, the adds are conteined in the installer, they don't need internet. The only reason might be if you click the add button "Download now" and it will try to open the game page on GOG through Internet Explorer.

Some programs can panic when they detect system connection but cannot access the internet, like if you unplug the internet cable on your router or are connected through a captive portal. Don't know how Lutris react but on older versions Bottles takes forever to launch (probably trying to access the update server) and I've had a couple of programs crashing, like update managers.
Also, I can't see how Wine itself is crashing but make sure that the issue is not Lutris trying to download some dependency. Not broken, it's disabled on the options.
