Hello everyone - so I have GOG version of Pillars of Eternity and major problems trying to download it off GOG using GOG Galaxy client.

So i go to Library i choose Pillars of Eternity, I click on INSTALL option, choose installation path and it seems that no matter what i do i can't go through INSTALLING ( Getting file list ). The client is processing some information and it doesn't really change - no matter how long i wait - i tried restarting, uninstalling, installing again etc. Nothing happens. I can download the game using manual option and GOG Downloader but with 120-150kb bandwidth.. With that rate it will take a week to get the game.. If i use GOG Galaxy to download Tyrian 2000 or any other free game in my library there is no problem apart from the low bandwith 0.2Mb/s is kinda low.

I'm sure it is not my internet because i check on Steam and Skyrim is going 5,2 - 5,5 MB/s.. Any ideas?

Could you put your logs at http://mantis.gog.com ?
What about downloading backup installer through Galaxy? more -> get backup & extras
I have no better idea at the moment..

Hey Mike thanks for the quick reply - When it comes to backup installer i can use it but the result is pretty much the same - 0.5 mb/s at best.

it's strange because i had pillars of eternity before - like two weeks ago and i'm pretty sure i downloaded it with 3 or 4 mb/s back then..

About the logs - i'm on it ;)

Here is the mantis topic with logs in it :

Perhaps tracert and ping may tell us something more about the issue.
Tap Win key + R, type cmd, hit enter and in command prompt window type:
tracert cnd.gog.com >> d:\tracert.txt
when finished try ping:
ping cnd.gog.com >> d:\ping.txt

then go to D: disk or wherever you choose to save tracert and ping logs and add them to your mantis report.

just an idea.. and thanks for the logs : ) I'll take a look and see if I can find something interesting ; )

So i typed tracert cnd.gog.com >> c:\tracert.txt and got this in the log : Unable to resolve target system name cnd.gog.com.

Same with ping ping cnd.gog.com >> c:\ping.txt - got Ping request could not find host cnd.gog.com. Please check the name and try again.

Uhmm I'm pretty sure it is not the thing you expected? :D

Oops.. My fault, the adress should be cdn.gog.com.. I'm really sorry about that typo.. Could you check btw if game isn't already installed in C:\Games\Pillars of Eternity\ ? and I bet you may find Tyrian in the same folder ; )

tpsa, tpsa never changes.. ; )
I'd try one more trick if I were you.
Go to your Galaxy library, click on Pillars of Eternity and on the game page more -> manage.. -> import folder and point to C:\Games\Pillars of Eternity\
This may or may not do the trick..
If there aren't any game files in the folder, galaxy will download them, or at least should..
Before that I advise you to close Galaxy entirely, go to C:\ProgramData\GOG.com\Galaxy\ and backup\delete logs folder.
/Right.. and could you kindly add tracert/ping logs to your mantis report? This way someone from GoG stuff may have a look at them, with a little bit of luck ; )

Okay dokey Mike, will try it out as soon as i download GOG Galaxy client again but it might take some time since it is going 60 kb/s and it's 99,5 mb to download :D I really appreciate your help and time! Thank you!

I uploaded logs onto mantis, maybe they will be able to figure out solution of the problem. If anything :D

UPDATE : So i erased logs and GalaxyClient folder in Program Files x86. I've noticed some changes like before it said Pillars Of Eternity English now there was Pillars Of Eternity English & 6 others languages etc. Like it had something to do with GOG Galaxy itself but i'm not sure. Downloading speed varies from 0.8 mb to 1.5mb/s. Usually around 1.2 mb/s. It's a progress! :D

You're very welcome, all we can do now is keep our fingers crossed ; )
Can't find anything seriously unusual in your logs, ping a little bit high, as for me. Mine are about 7ms..
Good we have a progress, with a little bit of luck you will get the game back : D

Looking really good now - 4.8 mb/s at the moment - 50% of the game downloaded already.. I'm not sure what happened but i'm glad it won't take a week to download the game :D
