1% Oh my god! What are we going to do!!!!

Usually when I install one of my GOG games, I'll locate the .exe file, not the GOG shortcut but the actual game launcher, and I'll import that file to my entry in Launchbox. So I just click on the game and as best I can tell - I'm just using an eyeball test, not a scientific method - it will run with no Galaxy functions added (Steam, OTOH, always runs the client unless it's a DRM-free game that I've moved out of the Steam file). I'll keep an eye on it, though, and see if Galaxy asserts itself...

That's because you will more than likely not notice services running in the background as 1% of the CPU doesn't show except when there is a very heavy load on it. For example, when I'm rendering an image I make sure to force-close all the galaxy services as this makes it about 1% quicker. 1% of 2 hours is 12 minutes, which is by no means insignificant.

I find it interesting that people who are concerned about 1% of CPU cycles are even installing Galaxy in the first place.

I use my PC for gaming and animation and I can honestly say that while galaxy is useful most of the time sometimes I just want to make a script to beat it down (because uninstalling is too easy right?). :D

Come to think of it, pressing the Exit button under the GOG menu in Galaxy did nothing, so I could pressed the same button from the tray icon. That closed the main window, but for some reason, I wasn't paying attention to the taskbar (for some reason) which had a GOG chat window open and Galaxy continued to run anyway, just without the tray icon or the window.

Later when I decided to quit the client via Task Manager because it obviously failed at doing just that....wow at all of these processes related to GOG. It took me some time to even get to the main Galaxy process with my mouse's scrollwheel. Something is amiss.
