Hi I am having issues with gog galaxy - i have my gog games in two folders - one of which is on an external hdd, - the folder on my c drive recognises the games in it but the gog folder on my f drive that i have alot of gog games installed, this one comes up empty when i do the scan and import folders option - is this not possible with gog galaxy? with steam i have two separate folders one on the external, which steam picks up fine, so will this be likewise possible with galaxy

also can anyone tell me how to stop gog galaxy starting automatically on startup - galaxy is being a real pain and an unnecessary system hog

primary game install location is where it will auto update from. Games installed with 2.x installer regardless of location while galaxy is running will show up. To manually add new games you need to find gamecard and pick the exact folder the game is installed in to import/scan

Not entirely true for me, i've very recently tested several 2.x installer games that Galaxy couldn't detect and even failed to detect when manually pointing Galaxy to them.

Click the GOGCOM button in Galaxy > Click Settings > the General tab will be open by default > Under the section Convenience uncheck Auto Start .

A lot of user have different issues with it.
As far as I understand from the settings you can have only one installation directory. Someone correct me if I wrong.
And many times Galaxy fails to detect games installed from backup installers, even with the import folder method.

You can have multiple installation directories. When you set it, Galaxy will install games to that directory, but can find games in different directories. You can also install a game to one location, then change the setting to install other games in a different one, without it having any effect on the first game.

No idea. Haven't encountered such issue myself, so I never had the conditions under which to trouble shoot properly. All I know is that Galaxy looks for the .info file to identify if a game is in a folder, yet sometimes people will report that it still fails to find it. So, no clue.

Did not know about the ".info" file. Checked it, and out of the 4 games it failed to recognise on my system (Hitman: contracts, Demon Stone, Shelter and Saints Row 2) only SR2 seems to have the ".info" file in the directory. So while a newer game like Shelter didn't install with a ".info" file SR2 was not recognised while having the file.

When will Galaxy be out of beta?

March 22, 2017 for some users, April 25, 2017 for all users.. 1.2 was a staggered release from what I recall.
