It seems that you're using an outdated browser. Some things may not work as they should (or don't work at all).
We suggest you upgrade newer and better browser like: Chrome, Firefox, Internet Explorer or Opera

So, It has come to my attention that now, Gog is REQUIRING that Gog Galaxy be installed BEFORE you can download and install Strife:Veteran Edition.

Thoughts?

You can't even download it through the browser?

I ask because I thought Surgeon Sim was the same way because there were no GOG Downloader links, but it turns out if you click on the regular download link and don't have Galaxy it just downloads it through the web,

I don't know if it applies here but it's worth looking into.

If you are right I owe you a beer because you saved me a few bucks.

Of course, if you are full of shit I'm just going to flick a booger at you and be done with it.

Um, no actually it doesn't, where did you get the impression it did.

I bought it, downloaded through my browser, installed and played no problem.

And I should mention I do not use Galaxy, nor have I ever used it.

Initial thoughts: How did it "come to your attention"? If you're going to post something like that, you need to back it up with more than "some bloke down the pub told me the other day".
It has come to my attention you are pulling things out of your ass.

Link the source or stop.
The Source code is on github. Even if it required galaxy, you could remove any dependencies. It even includes a galaxy/steam service stub.
OP is from parallel Earth where gog requires a client with some games and Steam is completely drm-free. At least that's my conclusion. :P
This is a serious accusation. Blah blah proof blah blah DRM blah who cares TinyE is back and all is right (or rather wrong in all the right ways) again!

Seriously though, is Galaxy actually required for this?

Of course not. Galaxy doesn't even exist on all the supported platforms.

Well the most important thing is that TinyE is back
